The Cubs are by far the biggest dissapointment in baseball. Show me a team with a 95 million dollar payroll that is a bottom 5 team in baseball. The Cubs and Jim Hendry are failures.

In terms of LF vs RF...don't you usually put the better athlete/defender in LF? If so I could see Pie as more of a LF.

If the Cubs are gonna bring up Pie and let Pierre walk then they better get a leadoff guy at 2B. IMO the worst thing you can do is stick Pie in that leadoff role. It will be CPatt all over again. Get a second baseman that can leadoff(Giles, Luis Castillo) and then bat Pie down in the order around 7th. How the Sox handled Brian Anderson is the blueprint the Cubs should use for Pie.

The 20 homers is the one I would most question. I think he has the ability to be a batting-title type of hitter, but I think he looks more like a 10-15 homer type of guy with more doubles. He has really shown a nice power stroke in August(5 HR's) Phyisically, he is built for power. I see no reason he can't avg b/t 3-4 HR's a month and get b/t 18-20 while still hitting for an average.

Does anyone have that video of "who's played 3rd since Santo" set to the tune of "we didn't start the fire" if I'm not mistaken. They played in a rain delay a few weeks ago, freakin hillarious.

Several other teams were interested in him, and we didn't sign him until late January (that's hardly being all over him). He was expected to be ready in May, and I see nothing wrong with taking the gamble. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2303134 My issue is this. Hendry had visions of Miller returning in June as his 4th starter. So he had no problem banking on Jerome Williams(based on a fluke decent months in 05) holding the spot down until then. That combined with the 6 million + he wasted on Rush and Perez..why not pursue a veteran like Kenny Rogers or Millwood?

Basically implying that a player made a mistake so bad that his 7 year old kid knows better. Is that showing respect to a player as a manager? Is that treating a player like a man? Supposedly thats Dusty's forte....unless of course your a rookie whom he doesn't like(in this case Theriot) Dusty gets bashed for being a players manager and Dusty get bashed for calling out his players. It's a lose, lose situation for him...It's obvious he needs to get outta town after this year is up. Now that I can agree on!

Talk about a unnecessary shot to Theriot. Complete B.S. Dusty Baker is an ignorant racist jackass If Ozzie makes that comment he's fresh and funny! When Baker makes it it's Racist? What is this Cubs.com fourms? First off Ozzie's act is garbage. Secondly..why is he mocking Theriot still, 2 days later, after he made a mistake when the Cubs just lost thanks to a bone headed play by Bynum. Yet he doesn't even mention Bynums gaff. The evidence of Baker's predijuce is clear. Or is it the reporter? I listed Dusty's post game interview last night and not once did he mention Bynum's mistake(which pretty much lost them the game) Perhaps no reporter asked him about the play? I don't recall a reporter asking him about Theirots mistake from 2 days ago yet that doesn't stop him from bringing it up.

terrible come back, state reasons why you think that way. NSBB tries to pride itself on not being like the Cub board. Why waste my time pointing out why he sucks? Everyone that follows the Cubs knows that Hairston was garbage. I could provide a detailed laundry list "why Hairston sucks"but I would like to save space on the server to be honest.
