  1. I guess he is planning on getting a head start on his 2007 season ending injury.
  2. I defened Thierot so much on this board..lobbyied for him to start everyday... and he does this to me.
  3. yeah..Dusty will not play Theirot anymore this season.
  4. someone needs to pimp slap that ump.
  5. http://www.theslant.com/jam/images/downer.jpg
  6. Rich Hill can come over to my house and have relations with my sister.
  7. Plenty. coming off 2003 they had Woody Williams Matt Morris at the front end Aquired Jeff Suppan as a 3 They unknowns were Jason Marquis and Carpeneter. They had 3 sold starters though in place.
  8. I don't see the point? That was the Cardinals. I'm talking about the Cubs. Show me one Hendry "rehab project" that has panned out. And please don't bring up Ryan Dempster who was a flash in the pan. And as I stated I have nothing against a reclamation project as long as there is a contingency plan.
  9. Yep. from the: GM to Coach to Players It's by far the worst ever.
  10. Maybe Miller will return to give us a whole 1 start in 2006! Keep throwing darts Jim...I know its been 3 years, but I'm sure you will hit the board again.
  11. So your answer is no? My answer would be possibly. I would have to know more about the surgery, and make it worthwhile by giving the team the option. You wouldn't sign him as one of your starters for 2007, but its a similar, if not better, investment as you'd take in a young kid who might never make it past AA. Mulder has high upside if healthy. I would have no problem with these reclamation projects as long as they have a backup plan, which they never do. I wan't to blow this whole team up as I said in another post..but If I was gonna truly "GO FOR IT" this is how I would do it. 1. Zambrano 2. Zito or Matsuzaka 3. Vicente Padilla 4. Sean Marshall/Rich Hill 5. Prior/Mulder/Marmol/Miller Worst case scenario: Prior, Mulder, and Miller remain hurt. Marshall and Hill Suck. Not likely Best case: Prior, Mulder, and Miller get healthy and throw up their career avgs. Marshall and Hill continue to improve. also not likely. Most probably. 1/3(prior, mulder, miller) stay healthy and post career averages. one of the young guys steps up. Thats how you take risks..by covering your but. Hendry should take notes.
  12. I hope you're successful, having never attended a Cubs convention, I was wondering if serious Baseball is discussed or are Hendry and Co. just hit with a bunch of meaningless vanilla questions? Garbage like - Who gets to choose the game day jersey?, etc. I been to one like 15 years ago..so I don't remember much. I'll probably get kicked out..but not before I get my 45 second rant in.
  13. That was quite an ignorant post. The thread started with a question, should the Cubs go for another reclamation project. He did not create a "let's get Mulder thread". Why do we want another reclmation project: When we have: Prior Wood(ole, Jimmy has visions of Wood still dancing thru his head...maybe as a dominant closer) Miller(Jimmy's cocky and Miller will be back so he can prove it was worth a gamble) Is there anyone else we can nuture back? People need to stop with this "reclemation project" crap. Get a freaking pitcher that can give you innings.
  14. Is it any wonder why this organization is so incompetent? Middle of the order impact hitters walk. And the Cubs have never shown the slightest bit of ability (nor willingness) to "chisel down" an aggressive hitter. Freaking idiots. This organization is screwed..from the top down. I can't go route for another MLB team because I hate bandwagoners. I need to find something other than baseball to occupy my time next summer.
  15. Awesome. Post of the year. Lets add another pitcher with arm problems. Why not. Go for it. I knew someone was gonna create a "lets get Mulder thread" LOL..Amazing.
  16. I plan on attending the Cubs convention the day Hendry is speaking. My goal is to ream him for what he has done to this team. I would be great if some others joined.
  17. Wow..I wonder if that guy will be getting his pink slip today. Thats not walking the company line for sure
  18. http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/3867/801/400/the_demps.jpg
  19. You forget RF  I'm gonna miss those crazy football spike throws You mean you won't miss that sweet-swing? All those hours of watching himself in the mirror so as to better imitate Ken Griffey Jr? 8) Maybe we can retain Gene Clines to pass that swing down to a youngster. Son, come here, I wanna talk about your swing. Swing hard, really hard. Don't matter the pitch, just swing hard, shoot for the moon, even if you miss, you'll land amoung the stars!
  20. hmmm Maybe the Cubs can get this guy...lets think....he has the potential to be a marketing cash cow.....the Cubs have the power of the WGN Superstation. So if he pitched for the Cubs he get alot of exposure. There is money to be made here. :?:
  21. You forget RF  I'm gonna miss those crazy football spike throws
  22. I edited my post...I understand your point. I was just trying to find a way to describe Bynum's stuididty on the field. Its like he drinks a 1/5h of Vodka and puts on a uniform.
  23. I guess I am the only one that just wants to blow this thing up.
  24. aside from numbers...watching Bynum on the field at times.he is braindead out there. From getting picked off first by a righty with an average move, brutal baserunning, and miscues at 2B, he exhibits stupidity on the field. He is simply a guy who is athletic trying to play baseball. Trying...the key word.
