So your answer is no? My answer would be possibly. I would have to know more about the surgery, and make it worthwhile by giving the team the option. You wouldn't sign him as one of your starters for 2007, but its a similar, if not better, investment as you'd take in a young kid who might never make it past AA. Mulder has high upside if healthy. I would have no problem with these reclamation projects as long as they have a backup plan, which they never do. I wan't to blow this whole team up as I said in another post..but If I was gonna truly "GO FOR IT" this is how I would do it. 1. Zambrano 2. Zito or Matsuzaka 3. Vicente Padilla 4. Sean Marshall/Rich Hill 5. Prior/Mulder/Marmol/Miller Worst case scenario: Prior, Mulder, and Miller remain hurt. Marshall and Hill Suck. Not likely Best case: Prior, Mulder, and Miller get healthy and throw up their career avgs. Marshall and Hill continue to improve. also not likely. Most probably. 1/3(prior, mulder, miller) stay healthy and post career averages. one of the young guys steps up. Thats how you take risks..by covering your but. Hendry should take notes.
