  1. I heard he has more kids than years he's been alive!
  2. I actually think that was Buster Olney.
  3. What's more overused on here, the lefthanded comments or the sarcastic overreactions to seemingly unalarming injury news?
  4. I don't think what you posted warrants a "damn those guys look good."
  5. I heard he actually got $10 million from Tic-Tacs to say that just to create a buzz around Tic-Tacs. For some strange reason now I feel like purchasing Tic-Tacs. The orange ones are the best.
  6. I'm not familiar with the particulars of his DL stints, but isn't the problem with Milton Bradley seemingly always something to do with his legs? I will believe he'll play good defense when I actually see him out there playing good defense and not hobbling around on crutches.
  7. there was a woman on suze orman (i don't really watch her show, it was on at work and i was facing the tv as i worked) was being interviewed. the audio wasn't on but according the captions they were putting on, she and her husband were out $5 million, she had to go back to work and they were living paycheck to paycheck. it certainly didn't sound like madoff only took a portion of their money. I don't believe you. I think you watch her show religiously and of your own volition. I believe it will be a freeing experience if you come clean about it.
  8. I remember thinking, "My God, that back door slider he gets people looking on is so ridiculous, how are hitters not mashing that damn thing out of that park. But I also remember it was better to see him out on the mound than Farnsworth, Veres, Guthrie, or any of the other assorted bastards of the era. MIKE REMLINGER AND ANTONIO ALFONSECA MY ASS
  9. Doubtful. But Cotts and Stanton seems like sucky options. Dennys Reyes is by no means exciting but I do like him better than Cotts or Stanton if that's the option we're looking at.
  10. He has a pitch called he calls "The Hart Stopper" but no one else does.
  11. If that's how you want to spend your time, go for it. Is there such a thing as productive use of time on here?
  12. Personally I think everyone should be allowed to bitch and moan about Aaron Miles for as long as they want without repraisal.
  13. I think it would be neat if Mark Prior got real fat and grew a ZZ Top beard and came back as a flame-throwing relief pitcher whor referred to himself as "a mean 'ol cuss." If I were Mark Prior I'd send Dusty Baker a bill for $500 million dollars.
  14. I heard Jim Bowden was on steroids.
  15. Bingo. I think it was Andy Pettitte who said he loves facing an all-righties lineup.
  16. Greg Maddux making younger pitchers better has to be one of most persistent myths in baseball. They said it for every time he went to after the Braves, yet I never saw it happen. How long did Paul Molitor last as a batting coach? I thought he was fired after like 1 season.
  17. Tim, you sort of just skipped over the part where I said "the best" Chris Young could hope for is Mike Cameron's career, which is not the same as Mike Cameron. And let's not pretend there weren't extenuating circumstances around the Griffey trade, Let's get back to the original statement I was critiquing: what stud pitcher do you think Chris Young, dangled out there on the trade market, is going to bring back?
  18. Somewhere along the line this topic veers off the railroad tracks of reality. It's not like the White Sox just let Albert Pujols walk to the Twins. We're talking about JOE CREDE. Like, how much better is he even than Pedro Feliz, even when healthy, which isn't often enough?
  19. You guys can defend A-Rod all you like, but I find it amusing to see him twist in the wind a little. His story's coming apart a little bit. And he's already basically admitted what he said about that Sports Illustrated writer was crap. Twist, twist in the wind!
  20. Could Chris Young even net a "stud" pitcher in return? About the best Chris Young can hope for is Mike Cameron's career. While Cameron's one of those guys who fluctuates from being vastly underrated to wildly overrated, I don't remember him even in the prime of his career being a super-hot commodity that you could hope to swap for a stud pitcher like a Matt Cain or something. As long as we're chiming in, I think the Diamondbacks would have been best served with an outfield of Quentin, Young, and Upton. Gonzalez not as much. Another question, where are these statistics coming from? Like the one about Carlos Quentin having less than a 10% chance of developing into what he was in 2008? What is the exac percentage? How many decimal places are we talking here?
  21. No, it is funny to see what people can be convinced on. Even when Marte was "good" his batting average was crap for an "elite" player.
  22. I think we should get Joel Guzman and GREG MILLER
  23. These defensive statistics suck. They said in 2008 Coco Crisp was history's best fielder and this year he somehow just became average. I AM DUBIOUS
  24. I don't think these mostly washed-up old time baseball players draw in the fans like people suppose on here. "Well, I wasn't going to go see the Braves, but now that I get the chance to see Griffey limp around the outfield, hells yeah."
  25. Am I the only one who dislikes Roger Clemens more than Barry Bonds? Take away all of Roger Clemens' Cy Young Awards while we're at it. Roger Clemens just cheated Randy Johnson out of 2 Cy Young Awards.
