  2. since you seem to be the resident riot hater (i drafted him in 3 fantasy leagues knowing he'd be solid) he has just as much business being on the all-star team than any other cub minus lee and hill. His performance so far this year has been outstanding and would be better if he got to play 2b or ss every game and not worry about bein benched by izcrappy. The kid can play and may end up bein the cubs all star selection if lee and hill slump over the next 2 months and he continues to be strong thats simply not true. the fact hes a cub makes littler difference. hes not one of the top shortstops in the league and its not even close. Are you going to sit there and tell me he's played better than: Jose Reyes, Jimmy Rollins, Hanley Ramirez, and Edgar Renteria? That's FOUR shortstops considerably better than him and I only used one of the three divisions in the National League. He's done well, but not nearly well enough to deserve to be an All Star. He's hitting .312 and his SLG isn't even over .375, that should tell you something.
  3. its a sum of squares regression, not a mathematical property. to find the correlation, RMSE or anything isnt all that hard. i just need to go to sleep because i have two finals tomorrow and one starts in 7 hours
  4. David Wright? I think Wright came up as a comp for Vitters, although he's probably not quite the player Wright is. no defense
  5. a high school pitcher who already has injury issues? sounds like a cub type of pick. hes never had health issues. if his health was guaranteed id take him ahead of everyone.
  6. Not to mention that Ryan Theriot has no business being on the All-Star team.
  7. Sounds like hes covering his ass to me.
  8. its hard to fault him for injuries.
  9. Soriano was switched the leadoff because he was slumping? That's just bad journalism. Oh well, it's Colorado I guess it passes off as plausible.
  10. dont be concerned with espns rpi. the cubs third order wl record is 17.6-11.4 which is something that adjusts for league, pitching, quality of batters faces, quality of pitchers faced among other technical things
  11. Wieters doesnt appear to be a consensus top three guy anymore
  12. None of the trades got down, but this team is now number 191 overall on Yahoo.
  13. if the cubs can get their team obp to 350 theyd score 900 runs. only three nl teams have done it since the 2000 season. colorado once, st louis once and the giants once.
  14. Ironically, this is just you speculating. You're speculating that I'm speculating.
  15. Im convinced Gammons pulls a lot of his "inside" information out of his ass. Or, at least, 95% is speculative.
  16. you dont like treasure hunts?
  17. Ill end up with 69 Ks this week and five wins. Im actually going to lose Ws if the Phillies win. Yeah, 54 rbis last week. this week i have 27, exactly half that. im going to win rbis though. and im going to win 8-2 this week again but i like bitching.
  18. Gammons needs to get his facts right.
  19. i think this settles it. Ward in the OF and Sori in 2B
  20. should we pinch run for Ward if he gets on? Who...
