  1. Wisconsin isn't very good. They weren't very good last season either. They're a top 25 team probably in the mid to late teens but theyre not a top ten team. Certainly not number five. Any level-headed Wisconsin fan would agree with that statement. The Big 10 isn't a good conference. It's not ACC bad, but it's not good.

  3. yep the big ten is good. it wasnt very good last year and doesnt appear to be any good this year
  4. sure you did. good times. indeed.
  5. would la tech ever sell out?
  6. Papelbon - 1.61 ERA, 75 K/15 walks, .77 WHIP Dempster - 3.88 ERA, 48K/27 walks, 1.28 WHIP. But hey, at least his performance in situations arbitrarily defined by a meaningless statistic is only marginally worse than Papelbons! (Also, let's not mention the two tie games he entered and singlehandedly let get out of reach) no ones saying dempster is as good as papelbon. (Demps ERA is over-represented by the two bad outings). The thing is Dempsters gotten the job done and most of the time out there hes been a quality closer. For a team thats hovering around .500, a spot where the team has been perfectly fine and above average is not the issue. Even when it cost them a game.
  7. If that's the case, then you are having a hard time trusting the pitching too then? No? youre missing the point like a fool who falls out of a boat at sea and misses the water.
  8. hes 25 for 28. thats an outstanding ratio.
  9. Im more comfortable with that than I am the Cubs scoring 4 runs in a game. i can promise you that.
  10. Ryan has three blown saves this year, that's just one more than Jon Papelbon
  11. lol logic where are you? c'mon demps not the problem
  12. the brewers dont have more talent than the cubs
  13. guys tim redding has a 3.27 era!!!!
  14. apparently hibbard was coaching in the Northern League as late as 1999 so it's possible hes still involved in the game
  15. and none of them wrote books. probably an obscure player who had a cup of tea.
  16. He said he discussed it with all the scouts that were there (about 12-15). This particular one I have not seen this year, I get to sit in these seats about 10 games a year. But I did over hear someone say that he was a former White Sox pitcher who had his career ended short by a rotator cuff injury and that he has written 2 books on pitching. He was probably mid-40s. If anyone can figure out who he is from that, then god bless. I didn't recognize him. Let's see, from memory Alex Fernandez, Greg Hibbard and Mike Sirotka all played for the Sox in the 90s and had rotator cuffs end their career. Jack McDowell also did but he's no scout. That's for sure.
  17. if michigan beats up on oregon they should be back in the top 25. i have NO doubt in my mind theyre one of the top 25 teams in college football. theyre probably one of the ten best. they didnt play like it on saturday but a zebra doesnt change their stripes. they should be in the top 25.
  18. the scout better be sitting in the exact same seat every day or he's running his mouth and isn't seeing jack. that said hes probably right but on accident.
  19. speed lineup = one that doesnt get on base? well if we cant hit with guys on...then why do we want less guys on?
  20. no but i wouldnt think there would be a significant difference there even if there was it wouldnt be the difference in the three or whatever runs z had on hill
  21. people acknowledge his defensive inability but they don't when they actually analyze his contributions.
  22. before i slam, what is the reasoning behind it? his utter lack of defensive competence.
  23. I'll make another suggestion and I fully expect to be slammed on this one: Adam Everett.
