  1. Umm...Gene Tenace? Do you need a history refresher ;) Tenace should be there somewhere. He's probably HOF worthy. There are a couple other undefendable omissions, but hes the big one.
  2. there is nothing wrong with number 2. just because sullivan says they cant it doesnt mean they cant (1). the likely outcome is that they cant /wont(2). theyre both possible. 1. That's a better package. Hernandez is what Pie was three or four years ago. Pie's a much safer bet and may have more physical tools. 2. Yes, I would do it. Pies patience sucks. Marshall is a back end of the rotation guy. Completely replaceable. im sure he can play it as good as (or should i say as bad as) rodriguez. rodriguez has put on a ton of weight and doesnt have the range he used to. he'd be worse than jeter at ss (and jeter is worse than guillen)
  3. i respectfully disagree with your rankings. No way Randy Johnson should be ahead of Clemens. see above. it was because clemens gave up 8 hits in the two games.
  4. it was purely comedic value. the rationale is that theres nothing saying its over the course of a career or whatever. arguably the four best single game pitching performances are owned by those three men. none of them were PGs, but they were the most dominant performances of all time. Wood probably is #1 without the PG considering he was an inch away from it.
  5. actually under the restrictions on the thread its possibly the most accurate answer.
  6. im just disappointed the cardinals didnt give me a call. seriously we all know raisin would rather have me as cubs gm than hendry
  7. *yawn* Best SPs 1. Kerry Wood 2. Randy Johnson 3. Roger Clemens
  8. 1. This does not mean the Cubs won't pursue Rodriguez. 2. Of course no one in their right mind should expect the Cubs to have the ability to make a competitive offer for Rodriguez's services given the state of flux in the pending sale of the Cubs. 3. We really would have been better off going after Renteria than Rodriguez. 4. We are probably better off going after Guillen than Rodriguez. 5. We are probably better off signing Abreu than Rodriguez. The last one may be a stretch.
  9. That isn't true. Hernandez is double the prospect Marshall ever was and Jurrjens was better. And about trading Guillen. Sure his defense is poor, but Im sure his defense is better than a tubby Rodriguez moving back to short.
  10. honestly the only espn writer whose opinion i value is tim kurjikan. neyer is basically ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops ops.
  11. its not a joke. he has. its sad, he used to be a decent read. now he's unreadable.
  12. Peters gotten dumber since his brain aneurysm.
  13. bay would be nice but there are a lot of teams looking for CO help who have better prospects than us and his relatively low contact status will not shy any of them away for bidding for his services, in prospects.
  14. ill take him. god we can get him for peanuts right now.
  15. Saragin's rankings lose their predicative power when your SOS is greater than 100, easily.
  16. A team with a losing record against an unbeaten team, to me, is always a mismatch. But I'll move it if more people agree with you. remember what happened the last time you did that and i groaned? auburn beat florida.
  17. Nebraska at (8) Kansas (12:30 pm) NOT a mismatch
  18. now we have to ask ourselves the real question, does the big twelve deserve three top ten teams. its amazing how oblivious to scheduling voters are. kansas misses oklahoma and texas this year. kansas is top 25 no doubt...but top ten? come on.
  19. Screw UF. Magically if they win out and Tenn and UGA lose at least one game a piece, they're going to the title game under any permutation. If UGA loses one and tennessee loses two, then they may be out of it. So well screw this. God their defense is terrible this season.
  20. i love the OT system and wish the NFL would adopt it Really? I think it's terrible. I wish college would use Sudden Death like the NFL does. There's just way too many instances of games going to 3rd and 4th overtimes in college, sudden death is so [expletive]
  21. UGA is blitzing like crazy in obvious passing downs knowing Tebow won't run out of pocket. Tebows done well as a pocket passer when he has time, but he's been sacked four times and each of the times he had about one second to get rid of the rock so its not his fault. God the line sucks. Atleast the Gators found a good non-Tebow running game, basically Harvin as a TB and James as a HB.
  22. why dont you just call it moneyball? intentionally foul pitches off until he breaks. which is basically one of the reasons in moneyball. middle relievers are middle relievers because (i think this is the quote): "Theyre too [explicit] to be [explicit] starters. " Drive up the starters pitch count to either break em or get them out of the game
  23. why dont you just call it moneyball?
