  1. Link: http://www.metsblog.com/2007/11/03/blog-scouting-report-on-kosuke-fukudome/ I love Fukudome's potential, but I'd be worried about giving $13 million to a player with those numbers. Gotta pay for that OBP though (ironically) that is a terrible scouting report.
  2. I tend to call people who are dumber than myself idiots. Obviously, I am a relatively bright guy so someone dumber than me is not always an idiot. JH is not an idiot. You don't get his job being an idiot. I don't think he is particularly good at his job. I think he's "relatively idiotic" about it meaning he's in the bottom five or so GMs.
  3. He isn't even a fourth outfielder. He's more of a fourth outfielder on a triple a team (ie 9th OFer). The guy has slugged all of 12 home runs in 3 minor league seasons after failing to slug 400 as a college senior with an aluminum bat! fuld sucks people.
  4. which is probably equivalent to their projection for soriano's 07
  5. maybe one of you photoshop types can get me a meph move stamp of approval logo
  6. Why not look at: kenny lofton, who the Indians declined to offer arbitration last year. david dejesus, who the Braves have offered chuck james for (chuck james is more or less comparable to sean marshall) both moves are certified with the meph move stamp of approval.
  7. and his eqa was .305 last season, not .280
  8. when in the hell was a .280 eqa guy average? i mean thats above average production at every position on the diamond except first base, where it's average. this guy can play 2B and CF. He's an above average guy
  9. I'd do a Brandon Wood, Chone Figgins, and Kendry Morales for Aramis Ramirez and Matt Murton (or another guy they like Marshall, Pie etc) in a heartbeat. Chone Figgins would be a nice guy to have around in CF. Brandon Wood can slide in at SS, defense be damned. Kendry Morales is on the verge of superstardom. We save cash in the process and can still grab Kosuke Fukudome. The Cubs would be a better team with this: 1. Chone Figgins, CF 2. Kosuke Fukudome, RF 3. Derrek Lee, 1B 4. Alfonso Soriano, LF 5. Kendry Morales, 3B 6. Mark DeRosa, 2B 7. Brandon Wood, SS 8. Geovany Soto, C
  10. I'll believe it when it happens. Theriot will have to hit like .240/.300/.300 for a prolonged spell before Cedeno is given a chance, I think.
  11. not really, by then they will be trading Uggla, Ramirez and Olsen among others. It's a neverending cycle. After the win another World Series... I hate how they do that. Trade the entire team, win the WS a few years later, and repeat. (it didnt work this time theyve already done the trade everybody thing once since 03)
  12. not really, by then they will be trading Uggla, Ramirez and Olsen among others. It's a neverending cycle. Point taken. However, they'll be a pretty darn good team before they set about trading all those guys off. while theyre at it, maybe we can swipe in and just trade for hanley ramirez now....
  13. not really, by then they will be trading Uggla, Ramirez and Olsen among others. It's a neverending cycle.
  14. Of course the Red Sox did have the second best offense in the league last year with Manny Ramirez MIA most of the season. Of course the Tigers do have a pretty good rotation themselves with Verlander, Bonderman, Rogers, and Willis.
  15. The funny thing is that deal isn't all that more than a Hill/Pie + deal.
  16. i think someone should offer him doughnuts, and more importantly free beer in the morning.
  17. My Giant fan brother says that in the Bay Area they are talking about trading Lincecum before he throws his arm off. Thats why he is available. Yeah, it appears like the consensus is when rather than if Lincecum will have major arm problems because of his motion. yet he's never had arm problems in his life. funny how that works. his mechanics are different, not bad but to the minds of idiot baseball people -- the odd is bad. you know like those stats and things! obp? LOL HITS BABY
  18. It's a good start! I'm sure USC is also playing ND....is OSU playing any other BCS team? You might want to check other thread's for OSU's past schedules; they always play at least one BCS team, and it's usually a good one. Florida also plays FSU every year, and I believe they play Hawaii next year. And USC plays ND every year. It'll be in LA next year. Florida plays Miami, Hawaii and Florida State next year.
  19. Johnny Damon had a serviceable .279 EqA last season and is a year removed from a string of three years over .290. He's a good bet to return to that level for at least one more year and only has two more years on his deal. Granted they're at 13m, but the Yankees would be willing pick up part of the deal, since they already value Cabrera more than Damon and in this scenario they get to keep 23 year old Cabrera and get Santana.
  20. It won't. Do not be surprised if Kershaw is included on this deal.
