  1. Well.. Eveland didn't put up near the numbers of Garza, but at least he got me positive points.
  2. Does anyone know if everything is ok with Chris? The reason being is that I've sent him several PM's and trade offers over the last few weeks with no response. He also has Marcum in his lineup, who won't even get a start this week. If he's OK and not interested in participating anymore, I have a friend (Matt's brother) who is more than willing to take over.
  3. Maybe not, but he plays the weakest position on the roster besides C, as a 2b. Utley, Kinsler, Uggla, Roberts, Phillips, Upton, and Pedroia disagree that 2B is a weak position. Guess it's a position of weak value to me. You can find just as many, most likely more, players of that calibur at every other position (minus catcher). yeah, but they don't play 2b. I'll keep Cano.... The way it looks right now with my keepers, I may have 10 VERY SOLID players come the start of next year..
  4. Well shi*. Shouldn't have left Garza on the bench, especially since I don't know if Oswalt will go this weekend. I now have to pitch Eveland tomorrow in case pitching Floyd this weekend won't give me 7 cuz of Roy missing a start. Oh well.. happy to have a comfy lead!

  7. HAHA! Good luck getting rid of him for anything of value. I couldn't!
  8. I don't believe so, even though he didn't play in 06, I believe his clock started after the 2005 season. One of the reasons I didn't keep him. I'm not so sure under the new exemption rule. This is the exact wording from the rules thread: I interpret this as meaning that since he missed the entire 2006 season it doesn't count, so his exemption years would be 2005, 2007, and 2008. Juan can confirm or correct my interpretation. I always was under the impression that the clock started following the first year a player loses his exemption. If I misinterpreted, oh well I guess...

  10. Just FYI... if there are any people interested in dropping out of the league, or any managers that don't want to participate any longer, Matt's brother is interested in taking over a team. I can say for sure too that he'd be more active than Matt.
  11. That says a lot about you as a manager.... :) what do my three championships say about me as a manager? ZING! That you get good players, but hell, even you admitted you wouldn't have any idea when it comes to choosing a pitcher out of a group. :)

  13. Matchups: Tootielicious (9-4) at Dishman's Dishmans (4-9) Harrys Budcrew (6-7) at Alamo Stealth (7-6) Raw Dawgs (9-4) at Lynx (6-7) Draconian Empire (6-7) at Severe Tooterstorms (5-8) Buddiga (4-9) at Northside Baseball (8-5) Quakers (7-6) at Voo Doo Bayou Bashers (4-9) Games of the Week: Galesburg Hand Sanitizers (7-6) at The Eyes of Texas (8-5) Fuzzy Logistics (7-6) at NC Cubs (7-6) Personally I get 2 starts each from Oswalt and Halliday. Can't decide if I want to start Eveland at Anaheim or Floyd vs Oakland for my 7th start. Other than that, I have 6 starts from Sheets, Halladay, Oswalt and Weaver. Garza will be sitting the bench this week vs Boston. Huge weeks for GHS and NC, as they're fighting for the 3rd place position in the East. In the West, Eyes of Texas and Fuzzy are looking to keep pace in a tightly packed division. I'll personally be rooting for NC, whom at this point I'd rather face in the playoffs, and for Eyes of Texas. Should be a fun week. Harry's Budcrew also has a must win match-up vs Alamo, who is also in the tightly packed group in the West.
  14. That is true but I think its fair. Most of the time, people just miscount. I agree... and knowing Doug and his history in the league, I'm sure it wasn't intentional.
  15. I'd be interested as well, mainly for a separate league. I'd like to keep roadkill the same, due to the fact that we do have an occasional problem with some managers not being active, and we have people in the league who may object to such a drastic shift. I think it's a great idea though!
  16. I've heard some good things about the six freshman coming in. It'll be interesting to see if they can start rebuilding the program since theyll all be together for so long. However, I won't be surprised if Anderson isn't around to see them graduate. He needs to make the postseason (even NIT) sometime within the next two years or he's probably gone. I am not sure how good the South will be either. Texas will still be solid, but not near as good as last season. Texas, OU, and Baylor will all be pretty good, IMO. Not title contenders, but ranked teams, unless they've lost players and I forgot. I can't remember who aTm lost and who they have coming in. Nebraska has a shot at being ok in the North. OU has been getting a lot of top-10 love this preseason. Willie Warren, Blake Griffin and Tony Crocker is a pretty good threesome, along with that UCLA bigman transfer whose name I can never remember (ryan wright?). The timing is right for us to make a deep run in the big 12. Yeah, I'd be pretty surprised if you guys didn't win it this year. The only reason you might not is you guys have the significantly tougher South schedule. If Self gets the baby Jayhawks in order and can rack up wins vs the North, we have an outside chance. I'm excited either way because for the first time since the Hollis Price years, OU fans are discussing basketball and football. It's been lonely the last few years with no one giving a damn about the program. well i still don't give a damn about your program. you will when we sweep you this year OH YES IT WILL BE SO SWEET AFTER OVER A DECADE OF WHIPPINGS VENGEANCE WILL BE MINE We're going to be not so good next year, but I love the class we have coming in thus far for 09!
  17. I hate to see Navin back to do his team. I'm kind of worried, because Navin has a 3 start advantage, even though I'm up 120 or so points. I just have a bad feeling about this week for some reason. On another note, I hope Chris is ok. Still haven't heard from him on my trade offer or my PM, and he's usually pretty active.
  18. If Walker is at all healthy he will be a very good pro. He's a freak athlete but I don't know if he knows how to play or will find a role in the NBA. Wolves take Mayo, when do the trades start? He is a great athlete, as long as that hasn't been ruined through injuries he will have a better career than anyone else taken in the 2nd round today. Agreed... He has all the potential in the world. I wish he'd have stayed one more year at KSU. He'd be a lottery pick next year if he would have done so.
  19. Don't worry, depending on Le Douche and Dempster for the rest of the season will show you where you really stand. The odds say that they'll fall back down to earth at some point.
  20. I'll pass you soon enough, and if not, I'll kick your ass in the playoffs :) All I was really trying to say though is that Adam will not catch either of the top 2 teams in the division. However, if you do look at the Power Rankings, you're looking up to me!
  21. Hilarious, now that you give me this.... although, you spelled it Donnie. It's Don now, but when I was a kid, it was Donny.
  22. ?? I don't get it??
  23. Quit the bickering... Adam... just plan on continuing to look up at Tootielicious and Raw Dawgs in the standings, cuz you're not going to catch either of us.
  24. Even though I'm a Bulls fan, I can't wait to see Beasley drafted #2, or hell, maybe #3 based off what I've read today. He'll make whomever doesn't pick him realize the mistake they made a year or two down the line, and I'll laugh and say I told you so.
  25. Speaking of trades, anyone know where Chris is? He's usually good at responding but I've made an offer and a PM through NSBB and haven't heard back for a week plus.
