I'm sick of it, sure, but I'm also slowly coming to peace with it. The White Sox annoy me, but I don't hate them. And it's a heck of a lot better than the Cardinals winning it. My dad (even though he's not a huge sports fan), like a lot of baby boomers, was White Sox fan up until the White Sox dismantled their '59 World Series team. Bad timing for the White Sox, as that was just in time for those kids to look towards the Cubs' pair of young up-and-comers named Williams and Santo. So I presume that there are a lot of Cubs fans in their 50s out there who will enjoy this just a little bit. But most of all, I just want this darn season to be over. Maybe I'm too optimistic that some of their inferiority complex will go away after this, though.
