  1. Absolutely no support on defense on that TD run.
  2. How the heck did Garcia not only get up after that shot, but throw for a first down?
  3. Shoulda caught it. Good throw, but if he somehow hits Mushin in stride, that's 6.
  4. Glad to hear the color guy give Ian Scott some love. I thought Hillenmeyer blew that play by hesitating a bit, but what a tackle.
  5. Oh boy... Bradley's knee gave out and he isn't moving.
  6. Oh, and for the record, aside from the pass interefence non-call, the plays I listed were all plays where multiple refs saw the infraction and were not distracted by anything else going on. That's what upset me about them. They weren't particularly significant plays, but I just could not believe that they didn't throw flags on those. Even Walker went crazy on a couple of them (he ran about 15 yards onto the field when the late hit wasn't flagged), which is something he rarely does.
  7. Sutton didn't look effective because shortly after Walker put him back in, the holding penalties starting coming, the numerous dropped passes led to Dunbar dropping the deep game, and the offensive line was falling apart. Tyrell still was averaging 5.0 yards per carry, though. Belding is one of the better offensive lineman. Aside from Strief, they're all starting for the first time in their careers this year. They needed to change things, though, and didn't. As for the pass interference call on Battle, wasn't Avant bumped within five yards? From my seat, I thought it was before the ball was thrown. If there was illegal touching on the fumble, is that not reviewable?
  8. What a pass in traffic to Muhsin for the score!
  9. No reason to throw around insults about me being kicked out of graduate school, you mean? C'mon, thats about as uncalled for as it gets. That's mostly what I was referring to, yeah.
  10. you have to pay for it WBBM now broadcasts online and it was working a couple of weeks ago during games, but they don't seem to be carrying the broadcast today.
  11. No reason to make it personal.
  12. Not that the offense or Dunbar were even trying after the 1st quarter, but here are a few other obvious ones that were pretty close to me: -The late hit on Basanez by a lineman who hit him in the helmet with both arms after coming in late and from behind after Brett already slid and after he was hit by one guy in front of him (well, that wasn't very close to me, but they did show the replay) -Peterman getting his collar grabbed for about 2 seconds by a blocker from behind after he broke free on punt coverage as a gunner -A corner on the near side jumped and was offsides by about two feet and wasn't close to getting back on-sides when the ball was snapped either late in the 3rd or in the 4th on a big 3rd down play I was unaware of some other non-calls until this morning. The first blown pass interference call may very well have made a difference, but they did just shut down after that. Pretty disgraceful performance, especially in a game when you have the opportunity to attract more fans and recruits. The o-line just wasn't there today (and losing Clarke in the 1st quarter certainly didn't help) and the receivers must have checked out early on. Can anyone tell me if Baz's second pick was his fault? It looked like the first one would've gone for six if Herbert (I think it was Herbert, but I can't remember right now) just turned around to look for the ball. My view of the second one was blocked by the guys on the sideline, but it looked like the intended receiver either ran the wrong route or just didn't look for the ball. Well, they really pissed away a really great opportunity last night. I just hope they can regroup in time for Iowa.
  13. Biggest game of the year, the defense plays great, and the offense put up a giant you know what. Dropped passes all over the place, the receivers running wrong routes, stupid holding calls, bad play calling. But most of all, it looked like they weren't even trying. They weren't in it offensively at all. I'll try to keep myself from complaining about the officiating until tomorrow, though. And I thought the talk was overblown. Wow....
  14. 3 flyouts and a strikeout for Felix tonight.
  15. I doubt 100 section seats would really be available when you do get the chance. Plus, they'd be quite expensive. Your best bet might be decent and unobstructed terrace reserve seats slightly out of the infield. I wonder if the Cubs are going to start offering more season tickets in the bleachers.
  16. The Onion on Notre Dame Football... Yes, The Onion now has a sports section. :D There's speculation from Michigan that Hart and Woodley are out. Better not be toying with my emotions. I can hardly keep from peeing my pants right now as it is in anticipation for tomorrow night (TMI?).
  17. Felix went 0-2 tonight with a HBP, CS, and sac fly. Marmol struggled to close out the 9th, though: .2 IP, 0 H, 1 R, 3 BBs, 1 K
  18. If LaTroy hadn't sucked people might have been more supportive. Fans can only control their own behavior. Some wanted to boo, but they probably didn't take into account the consequences of their actions.
  19. Meh. They're Cardinals fans, which is worse.
  20. Yeah. And it featured BYU going for a 2-point conversion in the 4th quarter to tie the game. Instead, the pass was picked off in the end zone and returned 100+ yards for 2 points. The episode also features some PSU player talking to Shamu.
  21. I'd take a $10 million cut to the payroll if it meant a philosophical change and a new coaching staff. What's the saying? Don't go grocery shopping while you're hungry? Anything reactionary that this organization would to do (which isn't going to happen) probably wouldn't be good.
  22. Hasn't really bothered me, but I don't come into contact with White Sox fans all that often. There are only two things important to me in baseball right now. 1) The state of the Cubs and 2) the fact that the Cardinals didn't win it. I've personally never considered the White Sox a rival and never will.
  23. They fail to convert probably about 90% of Michigan football fans who come in as undergrads, so they don't have a chance with grad students. BTW, Cheap Seats is doing the '89 Holiday Bowl between PSU and BYU this week. It should be replayed tonight at 9 PM central.
  24. I remember reading something about Guardado wanting to play for the Cubs a few years ago, but aren't he and Hawkins pretty good friends? Wouldn't shock me if the treatment LaTroy got at Wrigley keeps him from considering the Cubs.
  25. I had forgotten about that one-handed catch...and game, apparently. The game starts at 6:11...my date of birth (6/11)...
