  1. When I see him in the starting lineup April through May I'll believe that Jon. Through May? I'm just happy that he'll likely be starting through the first three weeks of the season. Anything more would just be a pleasant surprise.
  2. Mabry shouldn't even step into the batter's box next time.
  3. I don't think I've heard Dusty say that the starting job is Cedeno's like that before.
  4. when we were down in mesa, my brother was pretty proud of the fact that his hat was nicer than a lot of the players'. I'm going back to the adjustable this year. The fitted ones shrink too much if you're caught in a rain storm. An impressive AB by Mabry.
  5. Permanent. There are several teams making the switch this season.
  6. You know it's Spring Training when some of the players don't even have fitted hats on.
  7. He turns 40 in two months. I hope I look like that when I'm 40 (or now). If he's not in a big league or minor league camp, I wouldn't be surprised if he's playing in Mexico.
  8. I wish I could jump like that.
  9. I saw a reply on ESPN and didn't see a foul. Still don't know about the travel, but even the announcers said the officiating was one-sided (saying that and one foul was on the ground was pretty bad). Didn't particularly screw Gonzaga. It's likely the ball was bobbled.
  10. I don't think you can call a travel when the guy slides like that, especially at that point in the game. I don't remember a reach in on Raivio, but that whole thing was madness. I couldn't tell if how long he had possession. Either way, it's a makeup call at worst for UCLA.
  11. HOLY COW! Was that not the most entertaining set of back-to-back finishes you've ever seen!?!
  12. If Clines doesn't watch it, Hendry will demote his title back to base coach and reinstate Sarge as hitting coach. Not that there's much of a difference in responsibilities or pay... Let's just hope having Pierre on the team will keep him from negatively changing Pie's approach at the plate.

  14. Murton is going to have to try harder if he wants to surpass Ramirez as the team's OBP leader. Aramis could very well have that 1.600 OPS by the end of the day.
  15. Thanks, Bruce. That brings back all those good memories from 2005. Let's just hope Ramirez can keep up his near 1.600 OPS.
  16. Nice to see Lee starting. Dusty must've put Neifi in front of him so he won't feel pressured to try 100% if there were men on base. Just get him a few ABs with the bases empty and ease him back into it.
  17. What???? Wow. That's crazy. I guess all those injuries are taking a toll on his body. He's retiring b/c his hip isn't doing any better. Could've made a decent chunk of change.
  18. An odd twist on the battle for the 5th starter spot:
  19. It was on Piazza. Hey, it's an important step towards improving his spring rate up to bad.
