  1. Nope. They've been annoying me thoroughly with that and the Bobby Jenks one for a couple of weeks now. LOL... I guess I don't watch WGN/CSN enough nowadays. Never seen it. In the other one, Jenks commits criminal assault on a sleeping Cubs fan. At least he didn't set him on fire.

  3. Great forecast for Wednesday, by the way. 60 and sunny with 0% chance of rain. Probably cooler at gametime, though. They also predict a wind of about 12 mph blowing out to center.
  4. Is that three emergency hack hits this inning? And man Pagan is fast.
  5. HAHAHAHA And Pagan only saw 1 strike in that whole AB, I believe (not including the strike taken, which was outside).
  6. Wow. A heck of a bunt on 0-2 and...wow.
  7. Hit and run after a 5-pitch walk (and the strike was borderline)? At least it worked.
  8. Nice AB, Barrett. No small ball, please.
  9. Someone asked about Z's starts to the season earlier. Here's your asnwer: 2003: 4 very good starts followed by 4 runs in 6.2 IP 2004: 3 very good starts followed by 7 runs in 4.1 IP 2005: Bad start, great start, really bad start, great start, horrible start They said on the radio that he didn't have much zip early on. With the early start to spring training, maybe he's going through a bit of a dead arm period right now.
  10. Get used to it. Yea we should write him off after 1 reach on an error going to the opposite field, a fly out to the opposite field warning track/wall, 1 rbi, 1 misjudged ball, and 1 K. Well, it's been a few years since he's been any good. He strikes out a lot, doesn't walk much, and doesn't hit for as much power as you'd want out of a corner outfielder who strikes out that much. Not to write him off, but he's got a lot to prove.
  11. That was just a horrible pitch. A flat four-seamer knee high and right down the middle.
  12. At least Aramis didn't chase a 2-0 offspeed pitch like he did last time. But he still needs to be more selective there.
  13. Griffey really must've been shading Walker towards right.
  14. No. Z has the single best pitch, even better than Wood's curve with that 95 mph sinker. He is healthy and a horse and can hit .300. I'd take him over Wood and Prior in a heartbeat. Let's not get crazy here. If and when Prior is healthy he's the most domiate Cubs pitcher and one of the most dominate in the league. Z's already one of the most dominant in the league has been so for three straight years now.
  15. Blowing in, blowing out, or side to side? I believe someone said blowing out toward left center field. Yeah. If it's coming out of the west, it'll be blowing out to left and slightly towards center. Later in the day it's supposed to shift WNW, meaning left-center and center. The balls could really fly out today. Despite the hour-by-hour forecast, the radar looks clear.
  16. Too much chaff at Iowa. Who is Jamal Strong, anyway? He was one of the players to test positive for performance-enhancing drugs with the Mariners. He played a few of the Cactus League games on WGN. CFer, I believe, with no power. He's been in AAA or the majors for three years already.
  17. The forecast still has a 40-50% chance of t-showers during the game, although the radar looks fine. Winds are currently gusting over 30 mph, though.
  18. You can get good ones from spring training here, here, and here. You might be able to find a few other large ones on google image search, but probably not many.
  19. A lot of the Tribune writers have a distaste for the company and aren't afraid to show it. I definitely don't read the columns (of any paper, really). I can think of better wastes of my time than reading about how much pressure there is on the Cubs because the White Sox won or other such nonsense. I do look through Sullivan's articles for quotes and factual information, but that's about it. Of course, I only read it online, so Cubs.com is usually a more useful resource. And I definitely read Bruce's articles. His are the only ones that I actually read through and not just skim.
  20. It's this pre-existing opening to the field. It's the same door that they use to get an ambulance onto the field if they need one.
  21. Considering Pujols is a veteran of the Spanish-American War, I wouldn't exactly call him "young". "Despicable. Deplorable. Some of the worst apple hurling and stick mashing I've seen. You hit like a bunch of old men who fought in the Spanish-American War...which hasn't even been fought yet!"
