  1. Jon

Vitale and Smith each get a minute of screaming in the first 15 minutes. We'll see if that keeps up.
  2. There's a thread in transactions already: Premium/Non-Premium
  3. Bogus yellow on Zidane, but he answers! Good game.
  4. Hopefully. Didn't care much for that yellow.
  5. Agreed. I suspect we'll see another goal or two though seeing as both teams have had chances thus far in the first half. Good call, eh? Got that post in a minute before the goal. And Spain didn't get a second borderline PK call. Great end to the half.
  6. I won't argue with it, but I'd hate for that to decide the game.
  7. Wow. I hadn't heard of that technology before. That's pretty cool. From that Daily Herald article:
  8. It looked like he was offsides to me by about a half-step.
  9. I have no desire to watch Hendry and Baker continue to hurt the team's future and hope they finish dead last in the NL this season (while individual players do well, of course).
  10. I couldn't find much on Papelbon (although I do recall him sitting in the mid-80s), but apparently he has a stomach ulcer, had both knees operated on, and fainted a couple of years ago and nearly died from losing too much blood. Of course, this is from a Downey article and he was making fun of him for that. Wouldn't expect anything less from Downey, though.
  11. That was pathetic, Switzerland.
  12. Not a very good kick by Steller.
  13. I'd love to see one of the stats ones.
  14. I'm not sure who was doing the color for the Fire game on CSNC last night, but he kept on going on and on about how the complaining over the World Cup officiating by analysts has been unwarranted. His main point was that it only matters how much the fans enjoy the games and that the fans have been pleased with the officiating. Not as bad as the wave that they keep doing in Germany, though.
  15. I think he kneecapped Hendry's brother. There is no other explanation for why he is not on the big league team right now. If there's a better way for Marmol to improve than to pitch once a week as the big league club's long reliever, I'd like to hear it.
  16. Incorrect. Although i will say that the better Nike commercials have only been viewable online, they easily beat the "Jose and his fat friend" Adidas commercials. in fact, solely on the merit of the incredible Thierry Henry boot-off-of-his-own-calf-backwards-goal-on-concrete, Nike beats Adidas. Also, I would like to kick Jose in the face. That commercial just reeks of Nike trying to sell soccer based on street basketball. It's really forced.
  17. This is really getting crazy.
  18. Fight! Fight! Fight!
  19. No doubt, with the way they use minor league arms. I think they're reactive overall. A player gets booed -- send him out of town. Pick something the last world series team did and base your strategy around that for the year. And so on. It is very irritating that the philosophy seems to change based on whatever happened last. Just like teenage girls. I think the rebellious phase is next.
  20. Wow. One away with runners at 2nd and 3rd for Omaha. Fly ball to Pie in center, who then throws out the runner tagging from 2nd to 3rd BEFORE the runner from 3rd crosses the plate. And the Micah hits a 2-run bomb. He's on fire. He has a .258 BA on the season with Iowa, but an .869 OPS.
  21. I'd also like to say that Nike's soccer commercials, for the most part, suck. Adidas has them beat pretty easily.
  22. That was a pretty stupid decision.
  23. I still find some of the Pagan injury coverage funny (albeit it mind boggling). But my absolute favorite was on a WGN pregame show when Hendry said something to the effect of "when we get Lee and Pagan back..." That was something.
  24. Dusty and Jim were none too pleased with his comments after the Barrett/AJ fiasco and they aren't above holding personal grudges at the expense of the team. What did Hill say ? I totally missed that. He tried to stick up for Barrett after the game and was blasted for it by Hendry and Baker (after Guillen made his comments, I believe).
  25. seems like marmol will stay with the team, but as a reliever. Dusty said that in a perfect world, Marmol would be their long reliever...
