Her? I thought this individual was a poor guy. As if on cue, that guy just got hit in the groin by the ball. Not many Simpsons references for a World Cup thread unless you want to start screaming "HE HOLDS IT. HOLDS IT." Of course, it wasn't really that big of a deal.

Go me. First, I wasn't in the mood to watch the game this morning so I taped it instead and went to work out. Then I come home and the results were spoiled by someone. For privacy sake, let's call her Slugger 6. No, that's too obvious. Let's say S 16. Anyways, so I look for the goals and FF to the penalty kicks. Then, right as they were about to start, my tape ends. I recorded it in SP mode since I didn't think it would go that long and the penalty kicks started right at the 2:03 marker... Bah. But I'm happy with the result.

Garland sure is sucking this year. Last year he did well because he drastically reduced his walk total. This year his K and BB numbers are the same, but he's getting hit quite hard and giving up lots of HRs. -
Hey, great minds think alike. I love the diagrams TT. I certainly would like to see Germany face Brazil, though. I'd give them the edge over Italy and a Germany/Brazil matchup would provide one heck of an environment.

I didn't phrase it quite that way this morning, but I did ask about it. Got a long, "blah, blah, blah" answer. The kid needs to pitch _ somewhere. What are we on, day 13 of his rest period? 11 games off? Gotta love the 7 man bullpen. Today will be the 12th game off, I believe, and 13th day. I'm glad they think Angel has fully recovered, is in mid-season shape, and can afford to do nothing but twiddle his thumbs. Thanks, Bruce. I thought I saw Guzman in a dugout shot, but I thought it could've just been a cheap cardboard cutout. I guess this is the price that young talent has to pay when the big league club is in a pennant race.

Bruce, is it true that Angel Guzman fell down a well sometime last week and hasn't been available to pitch? Or is Hendry still looking for another top pitching prospect to replace him and waste away in long relief?
