It's been my biggest football pet peeve in years. I wish I could have come up with a better phrase than pet peeve though. Well, he should've been penalized for it. That was textbook taunting.

What on earth is going on with ESPN? Yesterday they went to commercial right before 3 knees to end a game. Now they go to commercial right before a sneak is needed to end a game.

ESPN just took a full media timeout after a 4th down stop when all Texas Tech had to do was take 3 knees to run out the clock.

Northwestern fans don't really expect much of a dropoff. Unfortunately, the running game is still awful. But at least Persa will run more than Kafka. We were saved by the new rule on illegal contact to the head at the end there. This year, if you initiate contact on a defenseless opponent with your head, shoulder, arm, etc., it's a penalty. Really sloppy game with bad fundamentals. But for the 1st game of the season, on the road, you just want to win and go home.

Joe Schad is saying that North Carolina may be without 16 players due to suspension.

None of the South Carolina players involved in the hotel investigation walked in with the team, though the team hasn't made any official statement yet.

Officially this is unrelated to the investigation. Reportedly he has been disruptive in practice and skipping some classes.Then the investigation may only result in 16 other suspensions. That program unraveled pretty quickly.

Watch the video clip of Katz talking on ESPN. It sounds like he's just making the assumption about basketball. I don't really buy it for many reasons, including why they'd even spend time talking about basketball right now.

One thing to note with these divisions is that they've already spent a lot of time talking about a 9 game schedule in 2015. Perhaps this is the setup that makes the most sense once a 2nd cross-divisional game is added.

It's brutal but at least you don't have to go through that much of Nebraska. I mean Iowa is really boring but Nebraska and SD are on another level. A road trip through TN, NC, SC and parts of KY really re-inforced how boring most of the midwest is to drive through. I once made the trip from eastern Indiana to Cinci to see the Cubs play. About halfway there I realized that there were actual hills there. I had to pinch myself. Driving through Indiana is much better than Illinois (or west), at least. They actually have trees you can look at from the interstate.

I was tempted to cut my wrists just to see color when I drove down to Champaign last November. I can't imagine what driving to Nebraska would be like.

Mike Carmin is reporting the following cross-division matchups: Michigan - Ohio State Nebraska - Penn State Minnesota - Wisconsin Northwestern - Illinois Iowa - Purdue Michigan State - Indiana I still don't get it.

It's rather humorous to see all the people on Twitter freaking out about Michigan and Ohio State being placed in separate divisions without realizing they'll be playing every year. Poor BYU. Nobody cares about their TV deal with ESPN today.
