  1. Remember when people were saying Cedeno should start over Theriot back in early 2008? That's nothing. I remember people being excited for Kelton, Montanez, Hill, and Choi being our Infield of the Future. Only thing Cubs can develop is pitching

  3. Me too. I have a friend in the scouting community who said he was playing through some pretty serious pain throughout the homestand. Then it's a good thing we are loaded in the OF.
  4. That blast would be curtain call-worthy at Wrigley. Here? Crowd barely reacts.
  5. LOL. That was hysterical. I just got to sit down and focus on the game. Has he been singing all game? Yes, he is why tasers were invented.
  6. Who the [expletive] is singing Eye of the Tiger?
  7. As much as that night hurt, Game 7 hurt twice as much. But now I'm long over both.
  8. Reporters are getting a little too smart with their questions. Geez, just keep your questions simple and to the point.
  9. I hope this ends all talk that Soriano hits best leading off.
  10. I think that plays a part, but it probably just makes things better and/or worse, rather than forming the opinion in the first place. Soriano was destined to be booed. He's never been as good as his pre-Cubs reputation suggested he was, his contract was insane, and his high strikeout free swinging approach riles fans regardless. Kaplan piling on makes it worse, but it didn't create the monster. Soriano gets killed because he's streaky and once he goes cold, he has nothing to fall back on. His defense is awful and he doesn't even attempt to steal anymore, which drives me insane. Someone tell me how Bobby Abreu manages to steal 20-25 bases a year with ease and Soriano won't even approach 10-15 this year? Again, from all reports Soriano is fully healthy. Soriano hits so many HRs that he doesn't have the chance to steal bases.
  11. Maybe we should just play shorthanded the rest of the night.
  12. I, for one, am disappointed the Cubs outfield is hitting because now I can't use my "Cubs 0fers" joke.
  13. Is it my imagination, or was Dempsey doing the Soriano "you don't see me" motion after the goal?
  14. I don't understand how a team with such good hitting and starting pitching can be sub .500.
  15. Put it this way if on the last day of the season the Cubs had nothing to play for, but a win would help keep the Cards from winning the division would you be upset if the Cubs lost. I was not rooting for a loss, but I am not upset by it either. But Liverpool does have something to play off ... qualifying for the Europa League
  16. So let me get this straight ... Liverpool fans hate Man U so much that they would rather Man U not win than Liverpool win?
  17. If this is the Fuku that we get for the rest of this year and next year, I say we resign him. He's been purely delightful this year.
  18. It's weird that Chelsea Dagger is recognized so well with the Blackhawks, considering every team has a song they play after goals. Just strange that this one stands out so well with the Hawks. Funny thing is, the Caps sometimes play Chelsea Dagger after goals too. Well, not any more. I think it stands out because it's heard so well on TV after the goal. Granted I have no evidence of this at all, but it seems that other teams goal songs aren't heard all that well or are just your "normal" sports songs.
  19. I say just take the last 8 at large teams for the play in games and after you get the 4 winners, you then make your bracket.
