  1. Looking at his minor league numbers last year, it seems he's back to his career norms. Hopefully the one year post-beaning swoon is over.
  2. Their pitching is awful. So is their hitting. And their fielding. They have the best lineup in baseball That's the funniest thing I've heard all day. The rest of their lineup outside of those guys is complete crap. Yeah, but those four guys consist of half their lineup. So you're saying that those 4 + crap is better than Ellsbury Pedroia Ortiz Ramirez Youkalis Lowell Drew Lugo Varitek Or however they line them up? Hell, even: Soriano Theriot Lee Ramirez Fukudome Soto DeRosa Pie/Johnson Nah, I'm just saying their lineup is above average. Especially with Berkman hitting the way he has.
  3. Hopefully nowhere near a Cubs scout.

  5. I love this stat: Only 6 AL teams are OPS'ing higher than the Cubs with the 9th spot in the order.
  6. Before you all bash Estes, keep in mind this start: http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/CIN/CIN200309240.shtml That pretty much shored up our rotation for the postseason.
  7. He only had to make a great play cause he misplayed the ball initially.
  8. Cubs need to score 3 more to wash that taste out of my mouth.
  9. Is that the thing where they point at the dugout? Like they did last year? I loved that. On a side note, Molina just got tossed for arguing balls and strikes. He took off his gear on the field and left it there, while throwing his chest protector at the ump's direction. La Russa just got tossed too. Who tossed La Russa? Edmonds?
  10. I'm gonna try to incorporate that in my programming job. I believe it was Jacque Jones who started it.
  11. Aww ... leave Randy Wolf in there, Bud.
  12. As long as he sucks the ball out of the park, he can suck all he wants.
  13. Sweet, all part of the Cubs master plan to have the best AAA team of all time.
  14. I'd rather the Cubs keep the $280,000.
  15. That's the first triple play in...how many years? I don't remember one last year. Phillies had one in the playoffs last year against the Rockies. You sure? I can't find it on baseball-reference.
  16. That's the first triple play in...how many years? I don't remember one last year. Tulowitski had an unassisted triple play last year. White Sox had one against the Twins in 2006. Houston had one that same year, I believe.
  17. don't get too confident True, we do have a tendancy of getting pwned by crappy ex-cubs. See most recently: Augie Ojeda. and Paul Bako. And Jerry Hairston. and Jason Kendall. and Todd Wellemyer. and Cesar Izturis. It's no secret ex-Cubs really get up to play the Cubs.
  18. What time is tomorrow's game? Cubs website says 2:40 pm, but hard tickets says 12:05 pm.
  19. Wellemeyer drives in a run. Yep, these are the Cardinals.
  20. I'd love to start a game thread as well.
  21. Good luck to Greenberg. I was watching his at-bat live when he and Murton were called up on the same day. He got drilled in the head on the very first pitch he saw in the major leagues. Hopefully he gets another shot again. You don't want on at-bat to be your legacy.
