  1. I'll call Comcast. Can't see anything on the left side ... the picture is huge.
  2. Oh man... a hit AND an SB! Now that's better!
  3. I have Comcast Cable, regular TV, watching it in the Chicago suburbs. The feed is unlike any I've seen. It is VERY wide, and short, and everything is cut off the side. I don't have hi def, but that's never been an issue. Is this something new that if you don't have high def it's going to be off kilter? Kind of makes the Cubs unwatchable for a whole new reason.....
  4. It's all my grandparents' fault for being Cubs fans and for perpetuating the curse on the following generations.
  5. Yeah, but on the PLUS side, we have Izzy at short. Uh, never mind....
  6. The abuse starts long before the Majors. We had three kids seriously injure their arm within one month... ages 13/14... kids that were "top" players (in our youth league, a very competitive one). One blew out his arm on the mound, one blew it out after bouts of achiness, throwing from right, and one blew it out throwing from home to second. Some youth leagues push and push and push early on, then it continues in h.s. and college. The end result can be in the Majors. It's sick.
  7. I like it. It is meaningless overall, but it lays a good foundation in a day in age where players seem lazier than ever (Roger Dorn in Major League... "you actually expect me to dive for that and risk injury to this face?")
  8. Not liking those "potential" future stats at all. I hate using weather as an excuse, but if they are affected by it more than other teams, hopefully it will resolve itself, soon. They're saying it'll be in the 50's on Friday.
  9. Even some of the players don't belive things are going to turn around. After what, 8 games, I heard one of them (I was in the other room, so I don't know who said it, I just heard it) say, "I THINK we're going to be all right...." If you're saying something like that to the media, I can only wonder what is in their heads or being said privately in the clubhouse. So much of any sport is mental.
  10. Hey hey hey! We can't lose! Oh yeah!
  11. I don't have an issue with the roster, but I do have an issue of what seems to be team chemistry and fire (desire to kick some butt and take some names).
  12. Seriously, guys, there's NO WAY they can play. I'm up this way and the sleet is hitting my front window so hard it sounds like hail. The wind is blowing about 30 mph, and when it's in your face, you can't breathe. NO WAY they're playing today.
  13. Go A-Rod, you baseball god.
  14. Go Corey. It's good news, I guess. I always liked him, he just wasn't meant to be a Cub. Hope he has a good season.
  15. Right now, after 8 games, they stink, plain and simple. Are there bright spots? Sure. But not only do they stink, they're BORING. Thankfully they might get "snowed out" on Wed. Then they'd have 2 days off to regroup.
  16. I am just so sick of this team right now. They're boring, the defense is asleep, the bulllpen stinks, the starters are shaky, and they couldn''t hit a beach ball with a bat. For crying out loud!!
  17. I don't know, 2 losses in 7 games is pretty impressive!!!! (now just shoot me)
  18. No way. That is THE coolest thing. If you're a baseball fan, you can't beat that. I'll have to see, I live on the south side. Bet you can get GREAT seatsn and the Angels are awesome.
  19. Yippee! We have Wade Miller. Got any GOOD news? Don't say Eyre....
  20. I agree, we just need the production, but you can't sit Murton too much. He's a young guy who needs playing time.
  21. He's got a great future. If the Red Sox let him go they're morons. Unless it's to the Cubs. Hope he won't blow out his arm. I like watching him pitch.
  22. I'm a big Murton fan, too. I think that Lou likes Theriot a lot and is gonna give him the chances. I don't get the feeling that Lou is really into Murton right now. Hope it changes.
  23. He had ZERO strikeouts. But at least his 13.50 ERA isn't as bad as Eyre's 22.50.
  24. Oh man, he'd look good in Cubbie navy, royal, gray, pinstripes or whatever.... I couldn't believe how he had Young running scared. That was some of the best pitching, against some darned good hitters... just awesome.
