  1. Erik Bedard is traveling to Seattle today for his physical, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer reports. The trade should finally go down Friday, assuming Bedard passes the physical. There's a slight chance it could be announced later today. Source: Seattle Post-Intelligencer I bet his pilot gets lost and he ends up in Baghdad so the trade is still on hold

  4. The Seattle Post-Intelligencer believes the Erik Bedard-to-Seattle deal will be announced Wednesday. It's been quiet today, and Bedard told associates Tuesday afternoon that nothing was happening yet. Still, all signs point to this getting done. Source: Seattle Post-Intelligencer
  5. Buster Olney has the latest on the Cubs' talks to acquire second baseman Brian Roberts. According to Olney: Sources involved in Baltimore's trade talks with Chicago expressed confidence that at some point, the Orioles and Cubs will finish the proposed Brian Roberts deal. Olney says Sean Gallagher would be the centerpiece of the deal. On February 3rd, ESPN's Jayson Stark said Gallagher or Sean Marshall would be included, but beyond that nothing has been decided.
  6. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20080204&content_id=2363574&vkey=hotstove2007&fext=.jsp Is about damn time this finally gets done..
  7. Baseball isn't a video game. Yes I know..But its funny how the orginization is trying to keep a straight face about the situation..Everyone knows they want him out..He serves no purpose here..Im sure the O's would take him if they threw him in instead one of our prospects or we can just dump his salary and trade him for sum prospects to a team desperate for pitching
  8. Why is Marquis still here? Get that bum out of here and throw him in the deal..Lieber is basically guranteed a spot, which is why he signed..But the 5 spot will be between like 3 or 4 guys...I think Dempster will be way better than Marquis, even though Im not high on Dempster that much at all..Give them Marquis and Colvin
  9. According to ESPN.com, the Orioles have gone back to the Mariners for written language that Seattle will submit Adam Jones and George Sherrill for physical examinations. It looks like the Erik Bedard trade is still getting done. Bedard's agent, Mark Pieper, said there was absolutely no truth to the MLB.com report that he and the Orioles had resumed discussing a long-term extension. "The report that appeared yesterday regarding Erik Bedard on mlb.com is wholly inaccurate and contains nothing factual," Pieper wrote in an email to the Seattle Times. "Quite honestly, that type of journalism is irresponsible and reckless." Source: ESPN.com
  10. And were all Cubs fans?? I hope you guys don't go to wrigley asking for sum Uv Blue, Mixed with Limon and Vanilla etc.. Im only 5'8 and 150 LBS but still pretty good after a 12 case of bruskis..I would think college would really raise that tolerance a little there guys..or should I say, Ladies... :D
  11. Pie,Marquis,Murton,Cedeno,Gallagher and one mor..Call it a deal
  12. we could've gave them Marmol,Pie,Murton and Cedeno and maybe 1 more
  13. Wow have the Orioles been pissing me off the past 2 months..
  14. Pretty much what I was thinking of though I didn't notice what he was wearing. McCarthy and Anderson were a big hit with the hooded sweatshirt crowd. Haha oh ya..It was Sox Trash Fest..All the fans were shooting their guns in the air and throwing their fake teeth around..
  15. I seen him with Brandon McCarthy one night last year at a bar called Bourbon Street over on the southside..He was wearing sum '89 Reebok Pumps and some tight Wrangler jeans with holes in them..Awsome how a ballplayer who makes cash dresses so classy...Still the chicks were all over him because he's a Sox player obviously..If he dedicated himself to baseball instead of drinking every night maybe he could make something of himself
  16. On a sidenote, since this is the most popular thread..these are now available... http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a312/Galvan316/P1000543.jpg
  17. That would be terrible...Roberts is good, but not that good..Seems like the O's are tryin to rape everyone in these deals..If they do get rid of Pie, Hendry better go after Lofton right away
  18. Are you serious or are you poking fun at those guys at Oriole hangout?
  19. If they want to rebuild, they need to stop crying over there and demanding 10 times more than their players are worth. Gallagher and Murton is enough...2 young guys that will help them beyond 2008..I thought the Rays were a pain to trade with...But the Orioles take the title in that category without a doubt..
  20. FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal says the Padres are now targeting Matt Murton as they continue to try to fill their hole in left field. Murton is available, but the Cubs don't know if they'll need him later to pull off a bigger deal. He's also in play in the Marlon Byrd talks with the Rangers. Source: FOXSports.com Give us Khalil!!
  21. He did good.. But then I won't forget the times he had guys down 0-2 and ended up walking them..Better not see any of that this year
  22. Here We Go Again Despite GM Jim Hendry's protestations, the Chicago Tribune's Phil Rogers says the Cubs and Orioles are talking about a massive deal involving Erik Bedard and Brian Roberts. According to Rogers' very highly placed source, Orioles owner Peter Angelos did shoot the deal down at the end of last week, but talks were back on again recently. Rogers believes the Cubs could send Felix Pie to Baltimore and bring in Marlon Byrd to replace him. The Rangers are believed to be asking for Sean Gallagher and Matt Murton from the Cubs for Marlon Byrd, the Chicago Tribune reports. If the Rangers had offered Byrd for either a year ago, they would have been laughed out of the room. We still don't see Byrd being worth as much as either, but the Rangers are in a rare position of strength and might as well capitalize on it.
  23. I say just shoot for Bedard using Pie++. That's what we should do...Z,Bedard,Lilly,Hill,Lieber would be a sick rotation..Then sign Lofton or play Fuld out there..With that rotation, I would not mind the lineup one bit..
  24. Roto just put this up The Baltimore Sun believes the Cubs would part with Rich Hill in a deal for both Erik Bedard and Brian Roberts. Hill, Felix Pie, Sean Marshall, Sean Gallagher, Ronny Cedeno and two prospects for Bedard and Roberts? If the rumored seven-for-two deal really has been discussed, the package may have looked something like that. It's highly unlikely that the Cubs will land both Bedard and Roberts, but if they did, they'd have to be looked at as the NL's best team entering the season. If there is a way to land both without Hill ,which I doubt, With our rotation and lineup, easily a World Series caliber team
