  1. He'll definitely get consideration. Ryan Braun may end up with it though. Ryan Braun does not deserve the MVP. He's basically putting up Soriano numbers (no walks). A lot of guys are outproducing Braun. MVP isnt the best player, its the most valuable to his team. Take Braun out of the Brewers lineup, and you basically have the Reds or Astros. That's not fair. So a guy like Pat Burrell, who is outproducing Braun, shouldn't win because he happens to play for a better lineup? Anyways Puljols is way more valuable to his team than Braun. The MVP should be for the best player. Braun isn't even in the top 5 right now. Not only Pujols, but Ludwick could be considered over Braun in this case.
  2. What got me to start this thread was noticing a whopping EIGHT games on WGN in September. I knew WGN had been carrying fewer games, but 8 out of 25 just seems asinine. Wouldn't you think they would want to carry as many games as possible in September? Lots of night games scheduled in September and the new season for the WB Network (or CN or whatever it is now) begins.
  3. LOL Lopez is starting in left field tonight. Seriously, left soapdropping field. And I don't remember anyone ever ranting about the awesomeness of Brendan Ryan. Stunting the super stardom of Joe Mather.
  4. Swisher. Easily. Really? Using hindsight, I'd take Fuk. Swish is younger and cheaper. I'd take Fukudome. The pieces we would have used to get Swisher likely would have kept us from having the right pieces for Harden. True....I'd definetley take Fukudome's defense though..Isnt Swisher batting like .234? He is a threat at the plate though,He had the game winning HR in extras yesterday. Swisher has a good OBP too. Kosuke may not be as good as we was earlier, but he was very crucial to our early season success that got us to first to begin with, so you should factor that into such a decision. I said in a previous post I would go with Fukudome. I'm just adding to the positives of Swisher.

  6. Swisher. Easily. Really? Using hindsight, I'd take Fuk. I'd take Fukudome also. But, Swisher would give a backup first baseman and would allow Ward to be replaced with a better hitter. Although at the beginning of the season I thought it was great having DWard on the bench......not so much anymore.
  7. Seriously??? The only way I can see this ever happening is if you're 10+ beers deep and just left one of his random good games. That's how I wound up with a CPatt shirt a few years ago... Hell, if you're that eager to waste $20, I'll take it. I may have been intoxicated and thought it would be a great idea last year to buy one and wear it when he pitched here last season. Baseball reference reminds me that was July 26, 2007. JM went 5 IP, 6 H, 6 ER, 4 BB, 2 HR. We, uh, lost. I think they have a different meaning/signifigance here....I wear mine to my softball games a lot...Its fun to get a rise out of all the STL fans How does wearing a Marquis jersey get a rise out of fans? I'm sure they are so upset to get rid of a pitcher with a 6+ ERA his last season in St. Louis. Well, they do give standing ovations to So Taguchi.
  8. +1 When he is through, he will have done damage to Cueto, Volquez, Bailey, and Harrang. Big start today for Bailey according to the Brewers announcers. They are saying if he doesn't perform Nick Massett may get the rotation spot.
  9. It watched a little bit of the game and it seemed like Hawk Harrelson enjoyed working with Plesac. I found it funny that at the end of the game, Hawk signed off with "Sox win, Sox win". I don't know if it was just the way he did it that night or if he was trying to parody/mock the Cubs broadcast.
  10. Daron Sutton (Don's son)
  11. Wow....that sounded like an old WWII film.
  12. Why couldn't a droplet of rain water roll down from the ivy into Carlos Lee's eye.
  13. I was at the JackHammers game yesterday. They now have former Sox shortstop Mike Caruso and Johnny Gomes brother.
  14. It is also rather rude to have/allow your pitcher to throw at another player because he hit a couple of homers.
  15. weather channel making a big deal out of weather? You don't say?!? :D The religious channels are always making a big deal out of religion. I hate that. :P
  16. WGN news just said the tarp is still on the field.
  17. Where is it being shown? The Youtube generation is slacking http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/gameday/index.jsp?gid=2008_08_04_milmlb_cinmlb_1 I love Thom's reaction. "Oh look at this!" Ha. Did you notice the "Things are coming apart for the Milwaukee Brewers, and it started with the four game sweet by the Mets, in Milwaukee." As if Jeff Brantley needs more reason to be considered an idiot. That wasn't Brantley I was going to say the same thing. It was Chris Welsh.
  18. Amy Freeze, LOL. That's her name. Perfect for a weather lady. http://img.mediaspanonline.com/5149/2108440.jpg That makes her husband, Mr. Freeze.
  19. It's better when he sings solo. He needs to ditch the wife.
