  1. Still 11 games back from .500, which is just incredibly depressing. If we can take 3 outta 4 from the 'Stros, and take care of the Reds, that would ease my aching heart. Too bad I know it wont happen. In conjunction with a bunch of Cardinals losses!!!
  2. agreed...if the cubs can just take every series on this roadtrip i would be so happy! but we'll see GO CUBS The thing is, the Cubs have put themselves in such a hole that they need to start sweeping some series. Sure, if we took every 3-game series 2/3 the rest of the year, we'd probably compete, but it's probably not going to happen. So when you win the first 2 games of a series in the Cubs' position, you need to finish it off. And they've lost the last 4 times they've taken the first two of a set. It would be a whole lot better if we could eliminate those 7 losses to the Padres.
  3. In this lineup, then you have to have Pierre bunt if Womack get on first. Absolutely no exceptions If Dusty was to decide....well, let's switch things up a bit with Womack on first...we'll let Pierre swing away this at bat This situation = Pierre with a grounder to the pitcher...double play or Pierre with a grounder to the 2nd baseman...double play
  4. Speaking of Sarge is he estranged from his son? Because he is definitely hitting for the Rangers this year.
  5. What an accomplishment. Contract extensions for everybody.Boo for having cardinals of any sort in your sig As a Ball State student I wholeheartedly disagree! Me too, Ball State University Class of 1995 right here. Needing to get myself down to the Heorot sometime soon. Hey Dave here. Me too! Class of 1969. http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j163/Niner74/DavidLetterman.jpg
  6. You guys got a steal in the availability of John Rooney. He is an excellent radio guy.
  7. Which is exactly why it will be Bobby Abreu for Jason Marquis and John Gall. Yeah, sounds about right. Getting a key or highly touted player from the Phillies ala Rolen and at the time JD Drew.
  8. I want too go on the record as saying that I think this is a stupid, stupid move. It definitely worked out for the Cards atleast for today.
  9. So Taguchi was a pest today in that Cubs loss to the Cardinals.
  10. Well, that was an overall bad game..... gave the Cards confidence to hang without Pujols bad outing for Maddux Murton looked horrendous Pierre although he got on a couple of times is still the same Pierre Postives.... Marmol Oh and the Pirates lost
  11. Good job Jones....listen to those boos in STL. I thought they don't boo their players?
  12. I think this game is pivotal for the Cards. This either one of those.... we won and we have the fortitude to play well even though Pujols is out. OR We lost and we are going to falter without Albert. Of course leave it to the Cubs to give confidence to the Cardinals.
  13. :?: Whoops....got ahead of myself because I'm flipping between games.
  14. Now Murton gets a hit!!!! Edit...sorry it was Barrett. Flipping between games.
  15. Murton and Jones tlaking and laughing on the bench. Murton is thinking........"What is this crazy fool talking about?"
  16. Good. With that speed and unpredictability it makes batters very hesitant. If he can avoid walking hitters, he'll be okay.
  17. The kid is going to make some enemies fast.
  18. Dare I say, the best fans in baseball? What do the Red Sox have to do with this?
  19. They make a lot of money off Cub fans who place bets on the Cubs to win it all.
  20. I'd also work on laying down bunts. In all seriousness a team that is poor fundamentally should not have days off, but rather have practice to work on those fundamentals
