  1. Yeah, I really need to be in bed. This is the best AS game I can remember, by far. 94' was a good game. Was that When Gwynn scored the winning run in Pittsburgh.
  2. Adrian Gonzalez for president. Yes...base hit.
  3. Francona could move Wright there and lose the DH, unlikely given the dearth of remaining position players, or just tell Guzman, "you're in at 3rd, deal with it." Hurdle
  4. Didn't Sandberg win the HR Derby that year? Yes...with 3... Sandberg had 3, McGwire and Matt Williams 1, and Griffey, Canseco, Fielder, Bonilla, and Strawberry with 0. Can you imagine a HR Derby in Wrigley on a night with the wind howling out all over the place? The apartment buildings on Waveland and Sheffield would need HR ball insurance coverage. Canseco hit the rooftops on Waveland a couple of times.
  5. Didn't Sandberg win the HR Derby that year? With 3 total the entire derby had 5 Geez, how disappointing would that be? It was such a non event. I bought tickets the day before for like $12.00.
  6. Didn't Sandberg win the HR Derby that year? Crap....I don't even remember and I was there.
  7. 1990 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1990_Major_League_Baseball_All-Star_Game It needs to happen again soon because I was 4 when that happened. Pittsburgh has had two since then.
  8. 1988 - lousy night. That was the first night game's year
  9. Ha....Zambrano is going to get it handed to him.
  10. this was noted about 5 years ago. I just realized it now.
  11. Johnny Bench, Hank Aaron, Joe Morgan. Ron Santo had to be escorted away. Aaron was there. On my recollection of who actually are HOFers that are still living that I didn't see there: Musial, Bench, Morgan, Jim Bunning, Catfish Hunter, Duke Snider, Eddie Matthews, Koufax, Red Schoendienst, Yaz?, Nolan Ryan Some of those might have been there, but I just missed them. Carlton Fisk and the reaction from Yankee fans could have been interesting.
