  1. Well, it was said that Zambrano was supposed to pitch around the third inning. So something obviously happended. But, for some reason I think that he'll be okay. No evidence...... just a hunch.
  2. Joey Cora injured Zambrano's elbow and he was sent to for x rays. Cora hit him with a fungo bat accidentally.
  3. Did anyone see that NFL Fox commercial just a few moments ago? James Brown is no longer the host of the NFL on Fox?
  4. Highlights - McCarver calling Brad Penny's fastball 'boring' and then Penny goes out and strikes out the side to start the game with 97-98mph fastballs. - some pretty good pitching all around When he said "Boring", he was calling it a drilling fastball. For example, one can "bore" a hole into the wall or in this case into the catcher's mitt. He was praising Penny's fastball.
  5. And when they see Z they probably cringe knowing that they have the wrong Zambrano.
  6. Tim McCarver rambling about David Wright-David Letterman.
  7. Brad Penny-Milano showing everyone "Who's the Boss".
  8. The network execs have no idea how to distinguish between a good announcer and a bad announcer because in general they don't know the game. So these networks end up hiring announcers that the past network that aired baseball had. Tim MCCarver has been on ABC, CBS, and Fox in terms of national broadcasting. How he didn't end up getting the gig at NBC in the mid nighties is a mystery. They assume well since he was all those places he must be good.
  9. Not that the game matters. Oh wait, it does.....kinda. But for the heck of it................. Who wins American or National? Any MVP predictions for this game? American League to win 9-2. Vlad Guerrero to win MVP.
  10. I don't really follow the Royals, but have heard that DeJesus possibly should have been the guy to go to the All Star game. So basically I know nothing about him. Question in regards to this......... If the Cubs could get this done and it included Pie, would this be the right deal? There would be a lot of teams interested in Pie. In your opinion, would DeJesus be the best option out there as opposed to another CF for Pie?
  11. From Wikipedia: This is mentioned under the section titled "Bizarre Comments". Is this true?
  12. Might there be an Alyssa Milano sighting?
  13. Out of curiousity, where did that come from? It made me laugh because I wasn't expecting it. Ah, the A.J. trade as well as their infatuation with veterans. Gotcha. I was thinking it might be Barry Bonds related.

  15. The Onion moved their HQ from Madison,WI to New York. Possible connection???
  16. Kevin Youkilis....the Greek god of walks has 4 walks today and he is 0-3. His walks have accounted for 2 runs scored......some notify the Cubs. He also has a stolen base  Yeah, but the Red Sox have 10 walks and the White Sox only have 2 yet they both have 5 runs. So this clearly means walks don't matter. aw jeez this game is not gonna end. The game can go on forever considering the All Star break give the manager license to abuse their pitchers.
  17. Kevin Youkilis....the Greek god of walks has 4 walks today and he is 0-3. His walks have accounted for 2 runs scored......some notify the Cubs.
  18. Agreed. Give me Schmidt any day over Zito. I agree. I like Schmidt and I have visions of Zito getting whiplash having to look back at the homers he'll give up when the wind is blowing out at Wrigley.
  19. Hughes is a year away. Assuming health, he'll pitch many more innings this season than he has in his professional career. With a guy like him (especially considering his injury history), the Yankees should take it easy with him. They can more easily monitor his pitch counts in the minors. If he gets called up, they'll be tempted to overuse him and tax his arm for a pennant run. Holy crap Martinez is a whale. He resembles Pedro Martinez, but just a bigger.
  20. Ron Santo agreeing with an email calling for Turnbow to be part of the All-Ugly team.
