  1. Yeah, I can see that. I get the early bird special by ordering in February. It was like $159, but they broke it up into three monthly payments. I don't do Sunday ticket. Whenever the Cowboys aren't on here, I go to Hooters because they carry the Sunday ticket. Also, since I have Cowboys season tix, I'm going to be at 5 games in person and two of the others are national games. That's cool. I actually got Extra Innings when I was living with my parents, so I have basically spent: $159 for Extra Innings (first time) $120 for MLB.tv Premium $60 for Extra Innings (second time) That's way too much. But oh well, its for baseball. I can justify it. We get like one 49ers game a year here, so we did get Sunday Ticket. Are there any restaurants or bars you could go watch Sunday Ticket at? While very few carry the baseball package, I've found quite a few with football. Since it's just once a week, I find doing that for football to be a lot of fun. Plus I can usually watch multiple games. and Oswalt flies out to strand two in the sixth as Sheets works out of a jam. 3-2 Astros, mid 6. There might be. I just turned 21 so my "core" group of friends are all behind me in age and probably wouldn't be able to go to sports bars with me. We split the $260 or whatever 3 ways, so its not that bad. Even if they were, I think I'd just spent too much money that way. I'd end up getting a bunch of beer at outrageous prices and I'd be broke. I'm already scraping by with all the bills I pay!

  3. And the Pirates reach the decade mark! 10-0!
  4. 8-0 as Chris Duncan misses a diving catch (he didn't even have to dive).
  5. RBI triple, 7-0 Pirates.
  6. Thanks for the help, Vance. I just ordered Extra Innings. ($60 is a bit steep for one month, but what the hell -- I've had nothing but problems with MLB.tv)
  7. Your loss. 8-) I had two TV's on; one on either game, but the wife commandeered the other one to watch some crappy reality TV show. :P
  8. We don't even have a phone line at our house (we all have cell phones) and we ordered NFL Sunday Ticket. They didn't mention anything about a phone line. Are we SOL?
  9. Edmonds with a great throw, 6-0.
  10. Are you watching or just listening? That was a nifty play. Watching on EI. Morgan with a sac bunt, runners on 2nd and 3rd with one out. And TLR comes out to get Kip. Do you have EI through DirecTV, by any chance? Yep. Do you have a phone line hooked up to your receiver? I was reading online (contemplating buying Extra Innings at $60 for the stretch run), and they said you need a phone line hooked up to your receiver to get access to sports packages? Do you have any idea what I'm talking about?

  13. And the Best Fans in Baseball cheer on Wells! :roll:
  14. Darn. Hard-hit, but right at 'em. 4-0, soon to be more.
  15. For a while I was drinking the kool-aid, thinking that Wells had improved after the All-Star Break.... however... His WHIP after the break is 1.67 (compared to 1.52 before)! While his ERA is a full run better, I think he's probably just getting more lucky. I haven't really looked at his FIP or anything, though.
  16. 4-0. Ian Snell has been dominant.
  17. [Cardinals team Doctor] Paletta said the eye socket was essentially crushed on impact, comparing the injured area to the disintegration of an egg shell or ice cream cone, and that the optic nerve had sustained severe trauma. Reconstructive surgery may not take place for several days while doctors wait for swelling to subside.
  18. Off topic, but how in the hell are you a Cards fan, and a 49ers fan? I grew up (and still live) in North Dakota. We don't have a professional sports team here. A lot of people just like Minnesota teams, but I never felt obligated to like them. I wasn't really much of a sports fan growing up. At around the time of 5th grade (think 1997 or so), my friends started getting me interested in the NFL. With the 49ers essentially being fresh off of a dynasty, there were bandwagon fans everywhere -- my friends included. I started liking who they started liking (fear not, I have continued liking them through the journey through hell that is the last few years). As for the Cardinals? Well, the first time I remember being interested in them was after a friend of mine mentioned "Major League Baseball Featuring Ken Griffey, Jr." I knew very little about baseball at the time, but I did know Griffey's name. We were about to play a home run derby, and I go, "shotgun Griffey!" Much to my surprise, my friend revealed I hadn't even selected the best slugger -- that title belonged to a man by the name of "McGwire." This planted the seed. That game came out mid/early 1998. The game was fun to play, and so I gave watching baseball a try. '98 was, of course, the same year McGwire / Sosa went on that epic run. Because of the home run chase, the Cardinals had a lot of nationally televised games (as did the Cubs on WGN). As a result, I started watching a lot... and soon, I became a fan. Couple of thoughts/comments: - If Sosa had "won" the race, would I be a Cubs fan today? (I say this tongue in cheek because I remember rootin' for McGwire the whole way.) - Despite McGwire's best efforts, Brian Jordan was my favorite Cardinal. - Earliest 49ers game I have memories of watching was a 34-17 win against the Broncos on Monday Night Football in 1997... I do, however, remember I fell asleep at halftime because I was simply not used to staying up that late.
  19. I think Pujols was wrong here.
  20. Relax I am sure you guys have some cripple pitching tomorrow who will no-hit whoever you are playing. All while Rick Ankiel snorts lines off of Jim Edmonds butt, after hitting three homers.o ure rite i 4got about th@t
  21. I thought the Cards were gonna make up ground. ;_;
  22. DLee has 11 home runs in 48 games post-ASB which, extrapolated over a full season would come out to 37 home runs. So it took half the year for his wrist to heal fully? wrists take forever to fully heal, both mine are still f'ed up and i havent broken either one in 3-4 years...but then again ive broken the left 5 times and the right 6What? How the heck have you broken your wrists 11 times?
  23. ?? Did it show her? someone posted her pic when Lee was up LOL. Cub rally girl > Cards rally girl.
