  1. I think maybe a good way to judge a reliever would be look over 2-3 year span, as opposed to just one year. Like has already been expressed, I believe that the success of a reliever is hard to truly determine, due to them being involved in small(er) sample sizes...
  2. Remember that 18 innings HOU-ATL game when they said that Clemens was going to play outfield or something after they ran out of position players?
  3. I hope they tie it for the sake of seeing what happens (with the first base situation).
  4. Marquis to pinch run!? Who is gonna play first base?
  5. He had a big hit in the World Series or something. Therefore he gets a free pass for the rest of his lifetime.
  6. You knew that, immediately after the pitching change, it was a bad Ohman of things to come.
  7. I don't know if Ohman is to blame. Wind or not, that was a brutal play by Theriot.
  8. I would say "high." He has hit rock bottom and has no where to go but up; he will, to the surprise of the nay-sayers, leave the inning unscathed.
  9. It is the superstation after all. I can't believe how bad WGN is! I'm sure this is just my cable company's fault, but the feed I get from WGN is always horrible. It just looks really grainy and the colors look dull.
  10. Wow! He hammered that. He certainly thought he got it. I trust (based on his reaction) that it was long gone without the wind.
  11. He did hit a couple of really solid line drives, though. That said, you don't luck your way into .160... he is struggling.
  12. See, this is what I love about Extra Innings. Sure I get to see most of the Cards games, but more importantly, I get to tape games of Felix, Daisuke, etc....
  13. Come on now. Santana has obliterated the league for three years running. You think that the torch is passed after two starts? As great as he is, he's got a long way to go. Consistency is everything. And don't get me wrong: I recognize this kid's potential... but... Also: he will have the arm troubles of Kerry Wood if they continue to tax his 21-year-old arm with 100 pitches every fifth day...
  14. I'm the same way. I'm happy that he's injured because it hurts the Cards but I generally don't seriously wish injury on anybody. I've jokingly wished injury on players in the heat of the moment but the only guy I really want to see get injured - and this is only enough to end his career - is Barry Bonds. I want him to tear his ACL's, PCL's and MCL's while walking up to the plate, one homer shy of the record. Hopefully it will be against the Padres. And against a pitcher he mashes -- where a home run would be a lock.
  15. Carp has now been sent home and will be getting an MRI. This is bad. :(
  16. K-Rod Says it's Resin
  17. Actually I think it's a $700 million deal that iN Demand and DirecTV split; so each pays $50 million per year. If, for example, Dish Network were to get in on the deal, they would split $100 mill three-ways... I think that's what I understood. My cable company wasn't ready yet. They are calling me back. Hopefully they this this done soon, I want to be able to tape tomorrow's game when I go to work. Oh, and also: I don't know what the regular price is, but they are going to offer the package for $159 for a "short time;" so I'm guessing that means a couple weeks. That's the early bird price, and then they'll jack it up later on.
  18. So St. Louis and Chicago both have "Izzy's," now?
