  1. why? It's not tryout camp. He failed early and why should he replace anyone? exactly. Murton was brought up to be a pinchhitter and an occassional starter. That is what he should be unless he proves himself differently. Oh god. Compare last season's stats of our entire OF and tell me who the top three are. Until then, try to talk about something else. You may make sense that way. ou seem to be the one not making any sense. You now have a manager that says if you hit you play. Matt didn't and isn't. ou are obviously the one not making any sense.
  2. I really really really like Matt Murton and I want him to be traded for this very reason. He's wasting away on the bench. Let him go somewhere that he will get the chance to play unless they are realistically expecting him to come back next year and get the starting RF job.
  3. Then why did you?
  4. Matt Murton should be a Cincinnati Red.
  5. It's just one of those things that few grasp, that leaving baserunners out there is generally a symptom of a productive offense, not an unproductive one. The negative feelings towards it are magnified and largely defined by those days when there's like 10 LOB but the team only scores 1 run.
  6. Adam Dunn observes none of your trivial rules. He does whatever he wants, whenever he wants, such as striking out, taking a walk, hitting a homerun, and disregarding social mores involving people taking a grumpy.
  7. It's entertaining, but at the same time, I sort of feel for them. They were really confident early on, and rightfully so, but since April, they're a .500 ballclub. It sucks to be a small-market team and see your hopes dashed by some major-market team with a giant wad of cash. But boy am I glad the Cubs have a giant wad of cash. If only they truly used it properly...
  8. Oh man they are freaking out at the Brewer's thread, NSBB style.
  9. Somebody said the dirty word.
  10. Paul Sullivan should just call it quits. Why would the Twins trade Santana this year, when they have him next year as well. If they're worried about being able to resign him, see what's going on with the team come July of next year then pull the trigger if you're going nowhere fast. Duh.
  11. Dumb. JK. I'm not big in any way on trading Pie, but at the same time, if we think we can add that big piece that could make the difference between winning the division and playing golf in October, I say you gotta roll the dice. I'm sure Hendry, if these rumors are true, would probably do his best to hold on to Pie, but considering that he thinks Colvin is the second-coming of Jim Edmonds, I'm thinking he might gamble.
  12. Because it's only 13-14 mil and some of that probably gets eaten by the Reds. Link
  13. I'll believe it when I see it. Those guys will pretty much say anything. Don't get me wrong though, I'll be hoping like crazy until it does or does not happen.
  14. i'm still really confused as to why people are really concerned about one of the best rotations in the league. Al "Mark Prior has toothpicks for calves" Yellon seems to think upgrading the rotation is more important than upgrading the offense. I for the most part enjoy reading BCB from time to time but some of the stuff he throws out there is just mind-numbing dumb.
  15. I don't really see how one at-bat or guys who are most certainly not going to be in the game are things worth noting. Just my opinion I guess.
  16. As for my reaction to these recent non-developments, consult my sig. (maybe I should throw Hendry in there too, as he doesn't seem to be making a serious attempt at going out and getting someone who could actually help the club)
  17. ... or Henry Blanco, Darryl Ward, and Jason Marquis? Let Omar do his thing, he's good at it.
  18. They're turning on Yosty pretty quickly over there.
  19. Anybody who suggests that Pie would be involved in a deal for a reliever has no idea what they're talking about.
  20. Playing baseball in Milwaukee has to do wonders for a young team's confidence.
  21. It just didn't make sense to me. I wasn't assuming anything, just pointing out that he has pitched back-to-back games already.
