  1. they board-ify the standing bear one by making it green with a white outline, but unlike any other two-color version of that logo, the outline also details the inside of the jaw line, making it look like no bear that has ever lived
  2. i dig that logo, i don't think i've ever seen it before that 1918 logo is easily the worst http://mediaclass.wths.net/mm36/Images/logo_history.jpg
  3. i dig that logo, i don't think i've ever seen it before
  4. i never really thought of this, so i was a little confused by this comment at first. however, i did find this http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_N0qDKRsrWVo/SWQCddkLm7I/AAAAAAAAAIk/GD3ivBjb2z8/s320/Wrigley+Home+Of+Bears+1939.jpg did they replace the entire marquee? that was the best pic i could find
  5. there are three options for the season: expectations not met (crossed out) expectations met (crossed out) expectations exceeded (not crossed out) and a picture of the team celebrating a walk-off win this team exceeded every single expectation any reasonable person had going into the season and even half-way through the season. there is nothing controversial about the notion being expressed here, and there certainly isn't anything stupid about it. what a weird thing to get all irrational and sensitive about
  6. what about this do you find stupid?
  7. source? http://mit.zenfs.com/121/2011/06/soriano_sitting_getty.jpg
  8. nailed it
  9. what the hell nothing. there's literally nothing to glean from any of that information. it's happenstance, coincidence, etc. a playoff series can only be understood in the context of itself and perhaps, but not always, the trajectory of the team prior to that moment. the season prior, much less THIRTY ONE seasons prior, have absolutely, positively, nothing to do with it
  10. i mean is there any question at this point that kyle just doesn't like black people and wants them to fail?
  11. That I think he's really, really overrated because of how he looks. Who the [expletive] thinks soler is good, god we're three days into the offseason and you're already an insufferable idiot again i consider myself firmly in the soler apologist camp. if he has another season like the last, then i'll bail publicly. but you better believe that i'll be the insufferable one when he puts together a beast of a season in miami or wherever
  12. the thing that vexes me most is how can soler simultaneously have an elite, almost superhuman ability to recognize pitch location while also refusing to leverage that ability in a significant amount of plate appearances like, he'll go on a stretch like he did in the nlds where he rains merciful, life-giving dongs upon the bfib, and there's just basically no doubt in my mind that this is the guy's true talent level. but then he comes out against harvey and it's not particularly clear that he's even thinking about wanting to try and control the strike zone i'm meatballing the hell out of this but i just don't know what to make of him, after being SUPER confident he was going to be of greater offensive value than bryant this year
  13. you're kidding yourself if you don't think that they already have at least one or two in there
  14. it has been a while since consecutive losses
  15. and also the stakes are not higher. the team has yet to play in a game with as high of stakes as the wc play-in in pittsburgh. so much pant [expletive] after a game we very much could have won, in a series where we have more losses to give than any of the previous contests. have some perspective and stop being so [expletive] fragile
  16. mojo's face turn into confident dong witnesser is like my favorite thing in the world right now and he's exactly right. that is loser talk. some of you have the resolve of a marshmallow in open flame. the actual cubs aren't afraid of losing, so why the [expletive] are you?
  17. Did he write them a telegram? he tweeted them with a messenger pigeon
  18. quantum leap guy has no business throwing out the first pitch Oh boy. http://stream1.gifsoup.com/view/173764/top-gun-volleyball-o.gif
  19. who's that on the right with swamp ass?
  20. quantum leap guy has no business throwing out the first pitch
