  3. someone check on omc to make sure he didn't fap to death
  4. lmao. i would hate him if he wasn't baiting me to things i'm actually interested in
  5. i dunno, i just feel like every time i try to make the case for arietta, grienke has the trump card. jake driving his era to within flinching distance of grienke's is really impressive, but grienke had a sub-2 era all year. blah blah era sucks, but it's a good representation of this story: jake's second half was historic, but grienke did what he did all year long. he's the cy young and that in no way diminishes arietta's amazing run over these last two seasons. getting to see him win games 20 and 21 in person will be among my fondest moments as a fan
  6. you're gettin' hosed brah
  7. his pic looks like a pic of a pic this 2d mfer is creeping me out
  8. Hahahaha Actually the guy who runs the tublr included the note "He really wanted to be included, so …" which leads me to believe it IS Kyle lmfao

  11. eatin' a sandwich
  12. it seems like a nervous tick or whatever, since he always touches the same exact spot on his hat. he does it after pitches, along with a number of shirt adjustments and whatnot
  13. i think the "bet on it" prediction is that he largely stays the same in terms of the sum of his contributions; pitch selection improves marginally while other aspects regress marginally, that sort of thing. well, actually, maybe the safe bet is that injuries derail his career, since physical health is the great equalizer in this sport. he could also go HAM and be one of those guys that gets excluded from data sets because his productivity skews it. let's hope for that while still being pleased with a 6 WAR player for a few seasons
  14. I know early in the season Lilly mostly just walked around the bleacher construction without a hard hat on. Not sure where where he's been lately. he takes such a keen interest in excavations
  15. Well none of the HBP were intentional, the only one that remotely could have been intentional was Rodney, which makes little sense because 1) why Wong and 2) Rodney can be wild (3 HBP now in 9 IP). It is amusing to see how this gets couched as a 'beanball war' when there's been one intentional HBP in the entire series and every word from the Cubs is 'we don't throw at people, throwing at people is for cowards' actually 1) is "there were two strikes" and there doesn't need to be any after that
  16. Thanks for your unrequested opinion on the exsistance of God. Not really sure what it has to do with the subject of this thread though. Every prayer you've ever uttered has been meaningless i'm sure he meant them at the time
  17. aramis is my favorite cub aside from the three guys ahead of him does anyone else have this memory: seeing a post-game interview and realizing that one of your favorite baseball players kinda sounds like kermit the frog i might have to go to this game so i stand the [expletive] out of his ovation
  18. i am just horribly embarrassed by how much i enjoyed that everyone must feel this

  21. seriously, it's [expletive] unlistenable
  22. i wouldn't call it a blind spot so much as a stubborn refusal to believe that soler's true talent level is essentially replacement
  23. a kid in my class brought that in for show and tell and it was [expletive] epic [expletive] that kid. It will forever be my toy holy grail. Wasn't it something insane, like 5 feet long? i remember it being bigger than that, actually. there were like 10 or 12 of us huddled around that thing from what i can recall either way, you can bring your decades-long struggle to an end: http://www.ebay.com/bhp/gi-joe-aircraft-carrier
