  1. I think I was 11 when I found out that 'softballs' come in sizes smaller than 16". Still not sure why they call them softballs, those 12" things, that is. I never heard of it until last fell, but I play in a 14" league. Gloves for girls, no gloves for guys. It has the make up of a 16' ball. I can't wait till I move back to the city. I tried to get a 16" intramural league going here at school but everyone wanted to play 12" so they could hit homeruns. Tools.
  2. I think I was 11 when I found out that 'softballs' come in sizes smaller than 16". Still not sure why they call them softballs, those 12" things, that is. There are 12" leagues that use a ball very similar to the 16" clincher, as opposed to the ones that are basically bloated baseballs. Really, do those leagues use gloves? I generally refer to the 'bloated baseballs' as 'girl baseballs'. Not to be sexist, just to be accurate as to what they should be used for.
  3. Miller's awesome performance has Santo wanting Prior to Get Well Soon! Good luck with that...

  5. So now that Guzman's in Iowa, who's going to be the long guy when Miller gets yanked in the 3rd? Cotts?
  6. I'm officially converting to radio, my WGN tv feed gave out twice during Aramis' hit.
  7. The bad part is Guzman has to stay in Iowa for 10 days unless someone gets injured. I guess they could still put Soriano on the DL. Or maybe Miller's arm will fall off today. That'd be pretty sweet.
  8. not mine Crap, I wonder what the deal with mine is. Figures, one of the few games on WGN down here in So. Ill. and I get a busted feed. Edit: fisch, where are you watching?
  9. The likelihood is that Guzman would have a hard time getting stretched out enough to start on Sunday anyway. Now he possibly has a minor league start in between, and that will make it much easier to make a move if the organization thinks that he can pitch enough innings. I wonder if they figured this out say, around the 8th or 9th inning of yesterday's game, and is perhaps the reason Gooz didn't go 3 innings.
  10. You and me both. I just want him to be able to come in and be successful.
  11. Hopefully Wade Miller. What are you talking about? I was just piling on the 'Wade Miller needs to not be in a Cubs uniform' crowd. Obviously Wade Miller wouldn't get sent down today, or probably even tomorrow, unfortunately. I have a sneaking suspicion Hendry wants him to pitch at least 3 games.
  12. Not if they're going to stretch him out to start.
  13. Dear Fellow NSBB'ers, I don't think the lineup matters today. Wade Miller is pitching. Know what I mean?
  14. I think that time officially got a little while longer.
  15. That was hilarious.
  16. This game would have been a whole lot sweeter if the score was 12-1. Give us Rocky Cherry.
  17. ..and you find this amusing why, exactly? The perpetual mentioning of the dollar amount of Alfonso Soriano's Cubs contract.
  18. soon, I hope In my perfect world, Prior replaces Miller, Guzman replaces Hill, and Hill takes Z spot when we trade Z for ARod or Cabrera. Speaking of Prior, what's going on with him now? Did the results come back yet from his shoulder exam? he is going through an emotional breakdown Kind of like that wacky british dude in your avatar.
