  1. Game Over. Thanks Z. Your Cy Young is waiting.
  2. I know exactly what you're going through, except I'm listening on radio. I got a 6 pager due tomorrow. Damn, that sucks. Mine is only a two page analysis of a poem, so it shouldn't be too bad. Lucky. I get to analyze and compare the works of 5 Islamic scholars/writers on the question of Jihad. 1 run, not too shabby. Lets score 9 more.

  4. Lets hope he showed Z how to throw strikes in the meantime.
  5. I'm jealous of Vance. I hope his presence can turn Z around.
  6. That choir sure beats the heck out of an old man doing that wobbly voice thing during the entire anthem.
  7. That's hilarious.
  8. I see, that makes much more sense now. Where do you suppose Murton and Jones will hit in the lineup?
  9. I suppose it could happen but I haven't heard any rumors like that. The Cards are usually pretty open and honest about injuries. This also doesn't make any sense. If he gets "shut down" for the year, that will mean that there's something seriously wrong with his arm. If this were September and the Cards were out of the playoff race, then yes, they might opt to sit him out for the rest of the year. But teams don't just decide to sit players out with 90% of the season remaining, just because that player has some injury concern. No sense whatsoever? I think it would be a prudent decision if his arm doesn't show any improvement in the near future. The guy was just signed to a multi-year deal, I'd like to think the Cardinals management would be smart enough to realize when it's better shutting down one of your most important players when continued use could lead to even more problems down the line, i.e. the remaining years left on his contract. It could very well be that there is something seriously wrong with his arm. I wasn't saying it was likely, just that rather well-informed Cardinals fan had mentioned it under the stipulation that his arm situation doesn't improve.
  10. Ever hear of lip service? maybe, but he apparently didn't say that sammy sosa was going to "get hit", so this thread looks pretty silly Yes, this thread is silly, but my comment wasn't concerning whether or not Guillen ordered a hit-job on Sosa, it was towards the assertion that Guillen has 'supported' Sammy Sosa. Not that I expect him to either support Sosa or not, but I think it's kind of ridiculous to say that he supports him. I'm pretty sure Guillen could care less about Sammy Sosa when he's not burning him for a game decision and all the Chicago Media have tons of wonderfully irrelevant questions to ask him. That being said, it's pretty safe to say that Sosa is going to grab some pine 4 times out of 5 in that situation. Guillen played the percentages and got burned, it happens. In my opinion, it seems kind of foolish to make something out of nothing with Guillen's comments, when he's a virtual minefield of criticism when it comes to managing a baseball team. Spend your energies criticizing things that are worth criticizing, not fabricating scandals.
  11. Ever hear of lip service?
  12. Soriano <3's Pie earth2sean also <3's Pie
  13. I'm blaming luck (re: the wind blowing in) for the Cubs only scoring 3 runs yesterday. That is not luck. It's a well known fact of life about April baseball. Which way the wind is blowing is hardly a fact. The winds often are blowing in on cooler/colder days - and there are quite a few of those in April. Stupid Lake Michigan. On the other hand, I hear that Lake Michigan is draining. This could be a good sign for the 2107 Cubs.
  14. That is, unless someone has shown Lou Jacque's splits. You could be right, but I still see Lou putting in Murton and Floyd over Jones today. Could go either way, we'll see.
  15. I thought about that, but I was kind of thinking that perhaps Lou might look at Jones' 1-6 game yesterday, plus the defensive lapse, and choose to give him a rest. That is, unless they're trying to show him off to some scouts.
  16. Fixed! :D I need to get my head in the game today.
  17. I suppose it could happen but I haven't heard any rumors like that. The Cards are usually pretty open and honest about injuries. Well what's his status right now? Is it just wait and see?
  18. Just take off the 's.' then I'd have to take out "the opposite of" as well.
  19. Isn't that pretty much guaranteeing a fine or suspension? Should a major league manager be carrying out vendettas for his fanbase and openly saying he's going to instigate something with another team because a guy hit a home run and hopped? Sammy rubbed it in pretty good and it was a meaningless homer. I would think it was pretty lame if a similar thing happened to the Cubs. Me too, but if our fans are treating someone like crap and he goes yard on us, then I expect him to do something like that. I'd still be angry, but I'd expect it. Pujols did this once against the Cubs in Wrigley. He was being boo'd at every at-bat and in one he either hit a HR or got an RBI hit and later came in to score. On his way back to the visitor's dugout, he placed his index finger on his lips in 'shut up' fashion. That was probably only the 158,679th time I contemplated some sort of physical violence against Albert Pujols involving my foot and his face. It wouldn't be fair though, he's kind of old.
  20. I wouldn't be that shocked if Cliff Floyd is still on this team come August 1st, seeing as how it will probably be in the DL capacity. Jones on the other hand...
