  1. Soriano is the posterboy for why you don't draft a guy onto your fantasy team who just signed a massive contract. That and he's on the wrong side of 30, just had a career year, and never was a big OBP guy. There were no illusions (at least for me) on what kind of commodity he was.
  2. Ensberg K's Hurts my fantasy team.
  3. Never threatening to score is a close game? This wasn't close after the first inning.
  4. Gameday said it was a wild pitch. It was but it was right infront of Barrett he turned the wrong way and let it skip away. TERRIBLE move--it hit his glove Barrett is the worst defensive catcher in the league. Y'know, even if that were true, and its not, his offense still outweighs it. It is true. Im tired of hearing about "his offense outweighs his mistakes behind the plate." Hell, I rather have Blanco starting behind the plate each game because I know he wont be dropping off-speed pitches, I know he will block pitches in the dirt, and I know he will call a really solid game behind the plate. Barrett is garbage behind the plate. He is better served as a DH in the AL than he is a catcher in the NL. I'm not even gonna argue with you if you are going to cite vague, unreasonable things like "Calls a better game" in defense of a catcher.
  5. Cubs 2007 motto: "We're gonna try really really hard to not get shut out!

  7. Yank out his spine! sweep the leg Yes, sensei.
  8. ...as is any good ball club. I don't think you understand how people score runs. There is no such thing as "clutch" hitting and "manufacturing runs." At least if there is, its no more efficient that "waiting for the 3 run homer". Ain't nothing wrong with high OBP and lots of power. Unfortunately our team is missing both right now.
  9. I sorta get the feeling that eventually the cubs will hit their stride, but we're really going to regret these first couple weeks in the standings. I'm so ashamed to be a fan of this team. Nothing ever comes together, whenever the hitting is awake the pitching is awful, whenever teh pitching is even average we get shut out.
  10. Can we have a bunch more arguments about how we need to hit less home runs and bunt more? I remember those fondly. I much prefer teh arguments about how someone, ANYONE, needs to get on base.
  11. Four walks and three errors did in Marquis. All Sampson did is throw strikes and let his defense work, probably exactly as he has been taught. Cubs hitters did him plenty of favors. These guys are absolutely punch less with the exception of DLee and ARam.
  12. Or you could become a fan of some other team. (Not the cardinals ro white sox)
  13. Guzman serves up a batting practice fastball that any Cubs hitter other than A-ram and D-Lee would just let pass them, or ground out on.
  14. CAN WE PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE HAVE A QUICK TOP OF THE INNING ?
