  1. Don't forget the New York SUPER FOOTBALL Giants are just on the brink with Eli.
  2. GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH The A's bullpen explodes
  3. LOL, Brian Anderson is the best defensive CF in baseball? Come on! Guillen definitely had a brain cramp leaving Podsednick in the game with that terrible arm and poor catching skills... I wonder if his head hurts. :P Did you see the play he made in the 6th inning? He's very very good in CF, maybe the best. Theres really no reason he should be on the bench. Anyway, go A's...gotta hold on for another 3 innings. EDIT: 2 innings after Podsednik gets a hold of a bat.
  4. On paper (and almost certainly, in reality, as last years schedule was very easy), the schedule seems very tough, despite the "ITS THE SECOND EASIEST SCHEDULE IN TEH LEAGUE, OH WAIT THEY ARE IN THE NFC NORTH AND EVERYTHING ELSE IS DIFFICULT" response. We're gonna need to be better this year, no doubt.
  5. Ahahahahhaa When the teams made the trade, they were both lower seeded playoff caliber teams. Two years later: Who's the 2 seed and who's the lottery pick? Ok, bye.
  6. I find this hilarious. Would you rather have Tyrus' and Wallace's combined 11.5/14.5 or Curry's 19 and 7? Not to mention the blocks, steals, and intangibles that Ben and TT bring to the table. We have enough scoring from Loul/BG/Kirk. I am pretty comfortable in saying that we would be a worse team if we had stuck with Eddy. That's not really a fair comparison. Curry plays 35 minutes a game and Wallace/Thomas combine for 48 minutes(35/13). There's a significant contractural difference as well. But it is fair to count all of their involvement (maybe not just adding the 2's averages together) because they were all combined in the value of this trade. We fleeced the Knicks, pure and simple.
  7. Worse news: the Cardinals just won and are in first place in the division after sweeping the Pirates. And Albert Pujols is still struggling. :x
  8. Hahhahahaha, Piazza took strikes 3 and 4, and the crushed a double on strike 5. Buehrle is getting squeezed a little, but then when he's struggling he's serving up a pitch right down the plate.
  9. They still can take the series, anything is up for grabs. Buehrle and Joe Kennedy (Inexplicably pitched well his first start) facing off against each other.
  10. Hahahah, Scott "I couldn't slug .400 if I had a metal bat" Podsednik completely screws up 2 plays in a row. Mark Ellis crushes a ball and can't even get it out of the ballpark, but a victory over teh Sox nonetheless. The White Sox can absolutely not play in Oakland.
  11. Nick Swisher is hotter, sexier, and has possibly a brighter future than Adam Dunn. And I'm a heterosexual male. 8-) EDIT: I still would like to have someone show me where I specifically dissed Nick Swisher. This is all very confusing to me. The hitting for the A's in general is awful Ellis, Crosby, Shannon Stewart, 38 year old Jason Kendall with no power?
  12. I loooooove Nick Swisher, but he's had a rough go of things so far this season. Him and Chavez are the only competent young-ish hitters on the team. And to illustrate my point perfectly, Travis Buck hits a lead off triple and the A's strand him.
  13. :!: This is more than the wrong thread... It s the wrong forums!
  14. He still is just about at that "prime year" (27-29 years old) stage of his career, so he could very well best his career bests. He just doesn't have a swing thats compatible with a high average though... 70 Home runs though? Maybe.
  15. And dear jesus I feel bad for Oakland Athletic pitchers. Their offense has even less punch than ours. I've always had a soft spot in my heart for them after reading Moneyball, and they also put the nail in the coffin of teh White Sox postseason hopes last year. Now its only a matter of time before the White Sox bats get to their pitchers. Oakland hitters are no threat to even touch Garland.
  16. Its GREAT for my fantasy team. I can't help but feel a little sorry for the guy, although looking at his bank book probably dissolves all that sympathy. I watch A-rod like I watch Albert Pujols, in amazement of their fantastic baseball abillity. They both are once (twice?) in a generation players.
  17. He should have slid!
  18. Ahahahahah Foul on Gordon for....getting smacked in the face.
  19. Do the Knicks have any offensive rebounds at all? This team has no passion, teamwork, or patience. And they aren't that far out of the playoffs either. (East :? ) I was worried about the possibility of the Raptors sneaking up behind us in the playoff seeding, but they still have Detroit twice so we should be O.k.
  20. Early in the 3rd quarter and teh Bulls have nearly twice as many points as the Knicks, 61-31
  21. Wow, just tuned in, the Knicks playing extremely ugly, selfish basketball. We win this game, we're one step closer to that 2 seed, something I didn't think we were going to even touch earlier this year.
  22. No Agent 0 or Caron Butler? We'd have to try to not sweep that series.
  23. I don't get CSN on campus in Chicago, but I do get WCIU I get BOTH CSN Chicago and CSN Northwest or some crap which is like Cardinals games and stuff. I don't get WCIU though. :?
  24. Bulls gotta hold serve to keep that coveted 2 spot. Still, amazingly, have a shot at 50 wins, but have to win all 4 final games.
