Probably, but the "outrageous" label is more about what we expect him to do in the future, rather than what he has done to date. For his actual production so far, his contract is at or below expected market value. Don't get me wrong...if I could trade him right now only paying a million or two of his contract, I'd do it in a heartbeat. I fully expect one of 08 or 09 will be a terrible year, although I haven't figured out which one yet. At least so far though, he's done the job. I thought he was only signed through 08?

If Dempster falls off we have exactly 1 good starting pitcher left Which is just about on par with the rest of the league. It's rare to see any team with a bonafide 1-2 punch these days. I wasn't being that demanding with "good" i meant you know, just a bit above league average I don't think Carlos is just good. I think he's great. One of the best pitchers in the league. I'm talking about the rest of the rotation. Marquis is a loser, Lilly is still struggling but may have put it together a bit and who knows what we're getting with Lieber and/or Hill If Dempster goes we have one decent pitcher left

I never understood this. If someone is that bad and you don't want to get rid of his contract at least bench or something. There is no reason you have to TROT him out there and let him hurt the team. Not that I think Marquis should be DFA'd or benched, but its something I see all the time. Like Zito for instance. He shouldn't be on any major league roster. He should just retire and save everyone a lot of embarrassment.

He's overmanaging because he thinks he has a very talented team and if he can push them over the top with some flicks of the wrist he will. Too bad basically anything a manager does it ultimately hurts his team. Stop and let the boys play Lou, its how baseball works.

Its obvious whats going on in Lou's head. He thinks a win is so important for team morale or some such that its worth it to waste his best pitcher like this. Immediate results vs. Long term results. Not like any pitcher could blow a 6 run lead like this anyway. Its a stupid symbolic move that he's making but I doubt it really has any long term effects. We might lose tomorrow because of it but thats all.

12 pitches. Too bad the bottom of the 9th looms This is the dumbest baseball decision I have seen, at least this year, if not ever. This may rival anything Dusty did in his tenure. There is no way this will make his arm explode immediately So no it can't compare to stuff Dusty did

Does it pain any of you guys when you see Lee just take a meatball down the middle? I really hate how Wainwright is getting ahead of all of our hitters, he's eating that strikezone up.
