  1. thank you, that's the guy I was thinking of earlier. I was still scouring the Brewers roster, forgetting he's the one who helped kill Schwarber Hate that guy. Jean Segura also joins the Billy Hamilton Club of Extremely Mediocre HItters who Inexplicably Kill the Cubs
  2. It would be entirely appropriate if they could get an extension with it, its impossible for us to know that right now
  3. It is nice that Clayton Richard will never ever again touch a mound for the 2016 Chicago Cubs my hate for him is entirely outsized his actual talent and performance
  4. I think they have much longer than a 2 year window (they will need to find a couple new starters in the next couple years, that can be accomplished with money and other trades pretty easily)
  5. He did have a pretty decent spot start there This is a bad trade but far from disastrous and will be a blip in terms of future success unless like 3 disastrous infield injuries occur in the next 5 years Theo wants to weigh that roulette wheel ever more slightly in our favor and clearly doesn't feel *entirely* too safe with the division/home field lead.
  6. I still can't get over how much the supposedly objective nerdy stat guys just outright are consumed by emotions to drive them to really bad conclusions about the Cubs. Insecure Nerd Guys are just as bad as Insecure Meatball Guys
  7. The Anti-Schwarber Hate is getting stronger and stronger and they're all gonna look really silly next year
  8. If Grimm is the last guy in your bullpen you have a very good bullpen So that'll be fun to watch at least
  9. Well thinking about the last week or so, adding Montgomery and Chapman makes the bullpen absurdly better (both from addition and addition from subtraction by taking really bad players out of the bullpen and moving lesser RP to more fitting positions)
  10. If the deal is what was announced on the Score right now, Gleyber Torres, Adam Warren and 2 others for 2 months of Chapman and no guarantee of an extensions, it's absolutely terrible from a baseball perspective. Christ
  11. Yes. It feels like we've lost 3-4 of exactly that game during the bad stretch, but we flipped the tables this time. Winning 3 series in a row from the break is good. Nothing spectacular, just slow, steady, .666 ball
  12. Can we please for gods sake stop trying to steal? I think we're going to win this game but this is infuriating
  13. Travis Wood throwing a whole bucket of water on our parade
  14. Perhaps recording an out would be a good start
  15. I don't get how every line drive Heyward does manage to hit gets caught
  16. 5 runs against the hideous Brewers in 2.5 games ain't great
  17. This team despises lead off baserunners
  18. This guy just walked Jon Lester, who is one of the worst hitting pitchers I've ever seen We have no excuse for not pounding him into dust
  19. Lester is at 56 pitches already, Jesus Christ
  20. *holds giant sign that reads "COMMIT FEWER OUTS"*
