  1. My completely anecdotal and unscientific senses say this team has been shutout more times this season than the last 3 seasons combined
  2. I think the Brewers have hit more homers today than the Cubs have this whole month
  3. Unfortunately momentum is your next day’s starting pitcher we dont have those
  4. The teams played pretty mediocre-to-bad since the All-Star break, we can all acknowledge that. They are in real danger of not winning their division (though pretty much a lock for the playoffs, though wildcard is significantly worse than winning the division) There's really not much more to say. You just gotta hope the injured players come back strong, that some players that have been bad get good, and that Maddon is able to keep the leaky ship together for another 40ish games
  5. Bad curve balls and hittable fast balls get pummeled I don't mean the specific pitches today, I mean the entire starting staff this entire season. Quintana was great last season with the Cubs in the 2nd half and in the postseason (outside game 5 NLCS) Cubs have gotten extremely lucky the last 3 years with pitcher health and effectiveness, so we're paying for it now, I guess. It ain't pretty
  6. Someone who is good at computers : please tell me what our RD is in the first inning
  7. He’s been really good.
  8. lol did that happen? i was following the game on my phone casually and then when i went to check the final score i saw all the fireworks wow. dave bote. thats so cool
  9. That was a game where everything that could go wrong in the last 3 innings miraculously didn't. It's like we stared the Oracle at Delphi in the face and said : "No"
  10. here's my question: why do we keep running Bote, he has like 4 caught stealings already this year and he's only been on base like, 20 times
  11. if almora does anything other than ground out on the first pitch, i'm gonna sit here and not change my life at all but i'm pretty sure thats what he's gonna do
  12. i got a crazy idea, but stick with me you can actually add to the lead here - i know, i know, its nuts. but just think about it
  13. i gotta say my favorite thing in baseball is when my favorite team claws back from a deficit all game and then immediately the opponent effortlessly gains a bunch of baserunners and takes it back i love it. shove it down my horrible throat
  14. I thought the whole point of this Kinzler guy was that he doesn't walk people
  15. the fact of the matter is the Cubs seized the lead and should win this game, so, win it
  16. In the 2 At-bats i've witnessed, Javy has shown remarkable restraint in a big situation
  17. not that I recall hitting the ball hard is bad because you'll almost certainly hit it at someone better to hit dribblers nobody can field, imo
  18. hilariously, on par, Hendricks pitched a much better game than Hellickson
  19. YES! the legend of 2018 : Jason Heyward, above average hitter, continues!
