I know we have bigger issues, but is anyone else worried about the lack of pop in our bench. As of now we have ward, murton, cedeno, blanco, and fuld/fontenot. If there are a couple key injuries, we could be in trouble.
Just FWIW I watched Sean throw his last bullpen before he left for AZ and he had a MLB catcher from another team catching. He was consistently Mid 90's and his offspeed pitches were there and there were a few other MLB players watching and they had nothing but good things to say. He has been working out really hard as evidenced by his dropping twenty five pounds and has been working on being ready as soon as ST opens...... ;) From what I heard, he really opened some eyes in AZ last fall. All the more reason not to trade him. Yeah if we do end up trading for roberts I hope the centerpiece is Marshall and not Gallagher. Unfortunately I get the feeling that it will be gallagher.
In 2002 the Cubs had 5 of the Top 50, 7 of the Top 80. And one of them will likely never throw the ball the same way he did before Dusty got his hands on him. Prior or Wood?
Does this feel like déjà-vu to anyone? I miss Mark, but it is great to not have to worry about when he's coming back...or if. I would love to have the possibility of Prior pitching for the Cubs at some point this season as long as we weren't counting on it. That's true. The problem is if we still had him cubs management would still probably be counting on him.
"We're in the winning business, not the development business." Wow I can definitely imagine Dusty saying this and Hendry supporting him. Dusty DID say that. That must be why it's so believable. I thought it was you making up a realistic dusty quote.

I'm talking about so that you don't see them. For instance, there are threads in social with 5 billion posts in them that I couldn't care less about. I'd think that, like other forums, there would be something you can click to make it not visible. It might even save bandwidth, and in turn, money. Plus the icon or "social" wouldn't turn orange when the only thread updated is the ignored thread.
Depending on who that prospect is, I'd do that in a heartbeat. Sounds good...although I don't want dempster starting, but I guess I don't have a choice.
Is there any realistic chance Demp/Marquis + prospect would net us crisp? If there is I would take that in a second!!!!! I don't know if it is realistic or not, I was just commenting on HoopsCubs' source's rumor. Aah, that makes more sense.
