    Yes we will. The padres and dodgers are tied. Winner leads division. Loser leads wild card. (Unless dbacks win, but then we'd gain 1/2 game instead of a whole game). We are guaranteed to be no more than 5.5 back after today.

    The cubs will win the world series and you will still be pessimistic because they won't win for another 100 years. With that said, I can't tell whether you're pessimistic or cautiously optimistic. I figured the 2nd one, but since you're generally pessimistic, I decided to respond. :D

    yeah, with pie struggling and ss being a question mark, the cubs are likely in trouble offensively. For now, I like Fontenot at SS. Catcher is more important. (plus cf, but hopefully pie can break out of the slump.) Why haven't we brought soto up? Has he been struggling?

    Is soto ready? Can we trade for someone? Defensively we've done well, but Hill has been below average offensively, and Bowen is hitting below .100 as a cub.

    We need a long man. With that said, we can wait until Jones/Izzy is traded. No need to send someone else down and then bring him back up after a couple of days. Don't waste an option.
