  1. If the O wasn't a mirage, and the D was just a preseason fluke, the Bears might be ok this season. I was glad to see how mad each of the D players was after the game.
  2. I'm looking forward to watching the starters. I'm done when the backups come in though.
  3. http://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/CHC/attend.shtml The Cubs were 5th in the NL in attendance in 2006, and fell just short of the attendance record to that point. (A new record was set in 2007)
  4. Because they're so scared of the O-line that they have, that the figure a Chris Williams just back from surgery is better than their other options? FWIW, I agree with you...I'm just trying to come up with reasoning.
  5. I long for the day when athletes are never interviewed They interviewed the US runner last night that finished 2nd to Usain Bolt but was DQ'd, and he came off like a jerk, but considering he'd just found out that he was DQ'd and was not getting a silver medal, that's understandable. My wife and I were both pretty ticked that they'd interview him right then. Terrible.
  6. Usually keep 6 WRs right? Davis, Hester, Lloyd, Bennett are the locks. I'm assuming Hass is the 5th if Booker or Bradley could lose out on a spot. They're keeping 4 RB's probably though. The reports are that there will be 5 WR's, and that either Booker or Bradley will get that spot. I haven't even heard Hass in the discussion. I don't know why they'd keep Booker over Bradley if they think Bradley is healthy...why not see what you have with him? Which RB gets the axe? Have you heard anything on that? I've heard something pretty scary, but it was just speculation. Speculation is they'll keep all 4. Forte, AP, Jones and Wolfe. AP plays special teams too, so they can justify it that way.

  8. I got ya beat by about 7 hours. ;)
  9. I'm hoping Hank retires. Why? He's a backup catcher...what's wrong with him in that role?
  10. I think the Bears are actually happy about their WR situation, but maybe consider Anquan Boldin? http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/trainingcamp08/news/story?id=3543594
  11. No pinstripes no thanks.
  12. They were talking about that on comcast a little while ago. Does he have any speed left? If not, then I don't see how he would help us. We've already got a cadre of slower possession type receivers. Getting Horn is akin to the Sox getting Griffey: get an old, slow player for an old, slow team. Why? Yeah if he's slow now, I don't see the point. Actually I didn't see the point of Booker either, but that's another story. I'm gonna make a prediction: Booker doesn't make the team.
  13. No way. Every player on the Packer offense is better than the Bears counterpart with the exception of Kreutz. They have a solid defense too. The Packers will contend for the division and a Wild Card spot. We could argue about TE. Hard to say Rodgers is better than anyone at this point...gotta put him and Orton in the "unknown" category. I like the Packers chances better, but don't count your chickens...crazy stuff happens.
  14. I'm interested to see what they gave up. This is the second time they've given up players to get him...heh.
  15. Someone said the 3 QB's would be Orton, Grossman, Hanie. Actually, don't be surprised if we pick up Tampa's scraps, like Simms, and push Hanie to the practice squad.
  16. Hmm a TE that can't block but is too slow to be a full time WR. Another busted first round pick on offense for Angelo? I'd heard he had drastically improved his blocking this season. I'd say it's a bit early to call him a bust...lol
  17. With Clark, Olsen and Davis, and the state of the receiving core, you have to think the Bears will try a fair number of 2 TE sets this year right?
  18. Fans don't vote for the power rankings, so that makes the comments doubly hilarious.
  19. Won't happen, but the Geo love is awesome.
  20. The hope is that he'll only miss a start or two.
  21. Tough call for me, the Dodgers are better I'm pretty sure and their offense is more dangerous when healthy. However, when Arizona's pitching is on, they can beat anyone in a short series and I hate facing them. IMO, it will be different with HFA this time. I just think we've had better success with the Dodgers pitchers than we have Arizona's. I am not worried about the Cubs pitchers neutralizing the Dodger hitters as much as I am facing Webb 2 times in a 5 game series. I am certainly not saying the Dodgers pitchers are bad, we all saw Kudora dominate us, and Billingsley has great stuff and other than a Lee HR really pitched well against us at Wrigley. But Webb/Haren vs. Billingsley/Kudora, I'll take the later. Yeah...I don't fear a team scoring a bunch on our pitching as much as I fear a good pitcher shutting us down.
  22. I've thought it was a crapshoot for a while now. But weighted crapshoot is a better description. It's like the NBA draft lottery. Certain teams have better odds, but occaionally you get a "Chicago Bulls" that sneaks in there and grabs it.
  23. Anyone else rooting for the dodgers to win the west? I don't wanna see Arizona again.
