  1. When is the last time the Cubs had a 10 run inning, Fred?
  2. Not that I disagree, but bad timing on this post.
  3. It has nothing to do with Arroyo. We just all disagree with whatever you say. :)
  4. I'll probably catch some of the Denver game tonight.
  5. It's also when they were made. If they were made late, and when they were behind and trying to force things because the defense couldn't keep the other team from moving the ball, well that's different too.
  6. Nothing about his fire and intensity?
  7. One was a playoff game, one wasn't. One (supposedly) cost the Cubs a significant out in a game that could have sent the Cubs to the WS. One didn't. It's the circumstances that made Bartman memorable.
  8. Where was Roast on this one?
  9. Hmm, wonder why it was removed. Clearly someone who has an axe to grind with Cutler. Or just someone who has hated the Bears since a certain day in 2006. That was my thought...and although he denies it in the comments, that's what I'm sticking with.
  10. These are the most awesome rankings EVER: http://74.125.47.132/search?q=cache:IL39bh14Gx0J:raisingzona.com/2009/08/08/preseason-nfl-power-rankings/+nfl+rankings&cd=13&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us EDIT: Changed link to google cache...looks like the post might have been removed.

  12. It did say "barring an impressive offseason". I'd say this was about as impressive as could possibly be expected. EDIT: Actually, reading that post more, Jersey was dead on.... What the hell? I didn't edit that. Weird...that's probably my fault as I intended to edit the post ahead...not sure what happened there...sorry Raw. I just re-edited mine...if you wanna delete the post with your name on it, go ahead....
  13. It said "barring a very impressive offseason", which is quite frankly, exactly what we got. It wasn't perfect, but there was significant additions made. EDIT: Actually, reading that post more, Jersey was dead on....
  14. Yeah, there's a thread on DaBearz.com where they post all the tweets and news updates each day, but for last night's practice, this was what was posted....
  15. Harris practiced last night (although it was a no pad practice) and Zaidman was saying he looked fantastic. Was very quick, and moved well. Said he was doing everything you'd want to see a starting d-lineman do in this kind of practice. Honestly, I'm more worried about the secondary than the d-line.
  16. I'm surprised that's legal. How is that not unlawful detainment?
  17. I like the rest of what you said, but I think the bolded would be pretty difficult. There'd have to be split second decision making on challenges.
  18. It would be just like Bud and MLB to make one stupid move to cover up another. Yes, because implimenting a system to ensure that the correct call is always made is such a horrible thing. Constant delays are. There are delays when the call is argued and players/managers are ejected. You just limit instant replay so its not used for every play.

182 yard 8-iron within 6 inches. It's just ridiculous. I've also been impressed with the way Tiger stuck up for Paddy after they were put on the clock Sunday and called out the officials for affecting the outcome. They were the only two in contention, it was extremely entertaining and they finished 3 minutes after 6:00. It was completely unnecessary in that situation and the officials should have known better. He's gonna get fined for that too. But I wouldn't be surprised if it leads to a rule change.
  20. Hester also has had to deal with a lot of balls that were thrown behind him, or underthrown that he had to fight for, which isn't really his game.
  21. I suppose not...I guess my point is that football the focus is who will or won't make the team. In baseball, it's not just about that. It's about trying out for different levels of the minor league system, which a lot of fans just don't care about. Baseball has a much, much larger system of player development that is in play. There's nothing wrong with that, it just doesn't make for compelling viewing, imo. But for those on the site that are into the minor leagues a lot, then obviously that makes a difference. I just don't think for the average fan that is the case.
  22. If you were into the minor leagues as much as many on this site are, I can see how you would really enjoy ST, but I'm going to guess that the average fan couldn't name more than one or two minor league players in their home team's system.
