  1. I'm finding myself hating the Vikings more than the Packers now. Turns out I hate Favre more than either of the teams individually.
  2. We'll probably find out in a couple of weeks when we play Dallas. That'll answer a lot of questions because if we lose that game, we'll be 0-4 against teams with a winning record and 1-4 against teams that are average or better. It's a problem when we're two months into the season and we don't really know the identity of our football team besides having a real miserable offensive line and a real good quarterback. The Dallas and San Francisco games will answer a lot of questions about the Packers. Rodgers is very good. I really would like to see both GB and Chicago improve to the point where we can have some nice QB battles without them having to fight their own O-lines.
  3. I think he's a bit undersized to play o-line though.
  4. Wilcots was amazingly bad. I called my wife into the room at one point so I could bitch about him to a live person instead of to my television. Of course the play by play guy was bad too...I think at one point he made it a point to just call every Bears offensive player "Hester" whether it was true or not. Ron Turner is starting to get snippy in postgame interviews...I think he can feel that he's gonna end up being a fall guy for this team after the season, whether it's right or not. I won't be upset about it because is real bad, but it's more than just Turner.
  5. Laura Ricketts is MLB's first openly gay owner. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/11/02/laura-ricketts-is-first-o_n_342172.html
  6. Great point. That Philly D is tough.
  7. Heh...think AP will get disciplined? Think Tahi would if it was AP that was injured? :)
  8. Brad Biggs was on the radio this morning, and he was just dumbfounded at the number of times that Greg Olsen is lining up as fullback. I don't think Ron Turner knows how to use his tight ends.
  9. That's not what was being said. It's strictly a numbers analysis of possibilities...I could also win a million dollars tomorrow, but I wouldn't start begging me for a loan just yet.
  10. No chance with that O-Line. Yep...I think the D might be able to have a good game against the Vikes, but Cutler's gonna get killed.
  11. Eh...Cutler was bleeding...Rodgers isn't.... :good:
  12. Cutler was getting destroyed. He took a helmet to the chin and bit his tongue pretty severely...and then was planted a few other times...guy really looked like he'd been through a war by the end. He has to hate his line. I know I do. You gotta think the O-line will be Angelo's priority going forward...you can't have your franchise QB, the one you just gave an extension to, getting killed on a regular basis back there. Not to mention Forte not being able to to run for a couple of yards for a TD in the red zone most of the time, because the line keeps getting pushed back rather than get an inch of penetration. The problem is how do they upgrade it? Draft? You might be able to get a starter in the 3rd round but I doubt it. Free agency? If I recall correctly, the free agent pool of offensive lineman this offseason is pretty poor. Well I definitely don't think we'll be trading picks for em...so yeah...it's gonna be tough, but I still think it's gonna be a priority.

  14. Orlando Pace is toast. He can't play anymore. I'd love to see what this team could do with a legitimate O-line.
  15. I'm hoping that they are out to prove something this week.
  16. Sullivan also shoots down the Bradley/Wells rumors. http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2009/10/cubs-not-interested-in-wells-for-bradley-swap-with-jays.html
  17. I have power I was unaware of.
  18. Would they have the slightest idea what questions to ask in a sabr conversation? Bernstein has some familiarity with it. He doesn't delve too deeply into it on the radio, because it's probably not much of a ratings draw, but he's mentioned VORP and Win Shares in the past for sure. Anyone know what time the interview is at? I'm hoping after 3:30 so I can hear it. Can some recap it here?
  19. I don't think the unread thing is quite the same as the issue I originally had, but then I haven't had that issue in a couple of days. I'll try to notice the situation the next time it occurs, and post it.
  20. Vince Young officially starting on Sunday.
  21. My favorite non-Bear.
  22. I know he's just defending his guys, but that's not going to quell any criticism.
  23. I'd probably question the guy who is in second to last and ask why he wants to make that deal. It might need to be rejected. It's probably unfair, but there might be a legit reason. Wayne's injury and the unknowns related to that might be enough to let it be accepted (he might play this week but he might not). As for the other, I'd probably rather have Nicks. I don't know who is going to have more points the rest of the year, but Nicks has fantasy starter upside (if he is named a starter in NY) while I'm not sure Knox will be any better than a very good bench option. But they are really, really close so both ways are easily justifiable. I rejected the trade. I approved it when it was modified to be Jennings and Heath Miller for Wayne. At least I feel like some value was given up that way, especially since the current first place guy has no backup TE after the trade now. Apparently the guy that's 2nd to last wants to "have fun" and get an all Bears team now that his season is "lost". I don't know how this trade would have facilitated that. I turned down the Nicks for Knox deal for now...Knox against Cleveland in Chicago, and Nicks against Philly in Philly...seemed like this wasn't a good week to make that deal.
  24. Lets not pretend that's a magic O-line fix...it's a step in the right direction, but frankly, Kreutz needs to be replaced...and probably pretty soon.
