  1. I know he's just defending his guys, but that's not going to quell any criticism.
  2. I'd probably question the guy who is in second to last and ask why he wants to make that deal. It might need to be rejected. It's probably unfair, but there might be a legit reason. Wayne's injury and the unknowns related to that might be enough to let it be accepted (he might play this week but he might not). As for the other, I'd probably rather have Nicks. I don't know who is going to have more points the rest of the year, but Nicks has fantasy starter upside (if he is named a starter in NY) while I'm not sure Knox will be any better than a very good bench option. But they are really, really close so both ways are easily justifiable. I rejected the trade. I approved it when it was modified to be Jennings and Heath Miller for Wayne. At least I feel like some value was given up that way, especially since the current first place guy has no backup TE after the trade now. Apparently the guy that's 2nd to last wants to "have fun" and get an all Bears team now that his season is "lost". I don't know how this trade would have facilitated that. I turned down the Nicks for Knox deal for now...Knox against Cleveland in Chicago, and Nicks against Philly in Philly...seemed like this wasn't a good week to make that deal.
  3. Lets not pretend that's a magic O-line fix...it's a step in the right direction, but frankly, Kreutz needs to be replaced...and probably pretty soon.
  4. Yeah heard this on ESPN1000 earlier today. I'm also hearing Williams may be on the hot seat to get Shaffer in there to help the run game. The ESPN article implies that Pace's job is the one threatened by Shaffer.
  5. http://www.comedycentral.com/tosh.0/2009/10/22/the-best-website-footer-ever/ Hahaha...excellent. Of course, at work, it's not a choice, but still...funny, funny stuff.
  6. Excellent post.
  7. I'm commish in my league and being asked to approve Reggie Wayne (going to the current first place team) for Greg Jennings (going to the currently 2nd to last place team). The guys doing the trade are brothers in law. Seems awfully lopsided. Trying to decide if I should approve it. Also, the guy trading away Wayne wants to trade me Hakeem Nicks for Johnny Knox. Opinions?
  8. Probably worth it's own thread, but there's discussion of this in the Bradley thread.
  9. I'd like to put $100 on Cutler's "accuracy" magically improving when the O-line is improved. Make that $1000.
  10. I meant to post about the Sanchez/hot dog controversy. What a waste of coverage to even bring it up.
  11. It's not an all the time thing. Most of the time my back button works fine. Unfortunately I don't know of an elegant way to recreate the issue consistently.
  12. I've noticed this twice today. I'll be browsing the forum as I usually do..go into a thread...read the posts, and then hit the back button on my browser to go back to the forum index. I've noticed twice today, the back button doesn't work. If I use the pulldown on the back button, the top of the list is "AddThis Utility Frame". If I manually go down this list to the correct selection, I can back up that way. Two things worth noting. I'm using www.northsidebaseball.com/forum instead of /bridge. Also I'm using IE6 here at work. Nothing crippling...if it's left this way, I'll certainly deal...but thought I'd mention it.
  13. Haha...ok that's funnier.
  14. Well that was a speedy and completely pain free process.
  15. Because it'd have been 45-0 instead of 45-10 or whatever? Who cares? A stomping is a stomping.
  16. The thread was locked, so what's your point? Basically, if my post was worthy of deletion, his post is worthy of suspension or ban, that's my point. If you have further issues with this, please PM Tim about it rather than posting further in this thread. We've gone far enough of topic with this stuff.
  17. It wasn't even the worst pass defense in that game. Bowman on the first TD was worse.
  18. The Bengals are good, but they aren't as good as they looked yesterday. A game like that doesn't happen without the other team bending over.
  19. Starting early. Berrian @ GB Crabtree @ Indy I'm leaning Crabtree.
  20. Mike Martz for Bears coach!! Kidding.
  21. He had a terrible game, but he's shut down just about every other #1 receiver this season. They've been burning us on Bowman's side all season.
  22. So when does Sosa get the Cubs hitting coach job?
  23. Yeah, in saying untouchables I really just meant a core to build around. I'd like to try to stick with Forte because I don't trust this team to develop a RB...not that I wouldn't like to see someone behind Forte.
  24. Allowing myself to live the fantasy that Lovie is gone after this year, I don't think Shanny will be coming in. Thats' just a job threat to Angelo that I don't think he wants...which is understandable. Personally, I'd like to see Cowher in here, but there's no shortage of talented coaches on the market this offseason. Angelo is 9 years into his stay here and signed for what, 4 more? I don't see the need to feel a threat, and I'm guessing he's going to be willing to move on in the next few years anyway. Angelo has abandoned the draft and abandoned the defense above all else philosophy. He's spent big on a big time QB and has not received much of an early return on that investment. He needs an influx of offensive minds, and I bet he recognizes that. Angelo's best trait so far has been finding mid-draft talent to fill in on defense. He's sucked with RBs, he's sucked with WR (his best one was drafted as a KR/DB), he can't find an offensive lineman to save his life. He can't like seeing players he drafted find much greater success on other teams. Angelo has to think the offense is in need of a kick in the pants, and without a top notch defense, Lovie serves no purpose. That all makes sense, but I still think when you have another guy that has been a GM in the past in the organization, there's a certain level of unease that goes along with it. It's always better to be the only guy around that can do your job. I think we can all agree that the big part of the problem with Cutler is the surrounding talent. Both lines are awful, but the O-line is especially atrocious. I'm sick to death of Kreutz. Omiyale might as well just be a practice dummy. They can't send Hester and/or Knox long because Cutler can't survive a 5-7 step drop. But yeah...I'm done with Lovie and Turner. The two of them need to go. I'm tired of Lovie's "everything's ok...nothing to see here" philosophy. Get pissed at this team dammit!
  25. Who are the untouchables on this team? Cutler for sure. Briggs. Knox maybe? Um...Forte? Although I don't know what to think about him right now... Tillman maybe...Olsen maybe (if you think he can still meet his potential)... Gould and Maynard. Hester? My opinion on the talent on this team has drastically changed in two weeks. Hard to tell if I'm being objective here...probably not.
