    It was on Sports Center last Monday when the news broke. The only person who has ever denied the texting saga has been Brett Favre and he obviously can't be trusted. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/writers/don_banks/07/31/ap.insider/index.html They were in practice when the news broke. It was afterwards that they had any reaction from the players and no one said they received the texts. There's no video anywhere online of it. Every Vikings message board I've seen has been asking who received them. The freaking local newspaper said they still can't figure out who received them and that NO ONE has admitted to it. Yeah...and the Allen quotes are "I'll believe it when I see it" or something similar.

    He's not on the Bears beat any longer, he writes the "In the Wake of the News" column for Trib. Yeah, I realize, but somehow that's made him Bears dumb.

    Agreed. I used to like David Haugh too, but somehow, he's gotten pretty awful in the last year or two.

    i know that arkush hates the bears and whatever they do is the wrong thing. Arkush is awful. He's so clearly bitter at the Bears, and he doesn't even attempt to hide it. I really don't think he is bitter. A person can sound bitter when it is their job to talk and write and interact with a team that consistently makes poor moves. He seems pretty fair to me. There's a whole lot of local beat guys that don't sound bitter...why does he sound bitter all the time? Even if you write off a Bears dislike, he's still a tool though....“let me explain this for the fans, because they don’t understand.” He's always wrong, he thinks he's always right...he's a giant moron and I can't stand listening to him.

    Agreed. He had a terrible first half, but he's been playing closer to what we'd expect since the ASB.

    Well I saw where Allen was saying he wouldn't believe it till he saw it or something, so it seems unlikely he got the text.

    Link? Not being a smart a## but I looked and couldn't find anything like that. http://www.sportsnet.ca/football/nfl/2010/08/03/favre_not_returning_to_vikings/ I don't know about Peterson and Allen, but Shiancoe more or less confirmed that teammates were getting the text.

    Wow...a week from Saturday we get the first Bears preseason game. Seems like I've been waiting forever, but now it's right around the corner! I know it's just preseason, but I'll take what I can get at this point.

    People evaluating the Bears at this point keep saying how the receivers are getting seperation, but I think that's got a lot to do with our secondary being not all that good.

    How old was Favre's daughter when she gave birth? Dammit, 20. Though his other daughter is just 11... this is a pretty keen post if you catch my drift [expletive] you too. Dont you have a jaw that needs mashed in again? I don't get it. Ok, everyone involved with this conversation better drop it. Immediately. There's not going to be warnings if this one is continued past this point.

    That's an odd conclusion he came to based on what he said in the article. And he latched on to a really obscure stat that doesn't really mean anything.

    I'm sure that no other team will emply the old "get him" strategy. ;) Well, the only two teams that get a say before the Cubs are Pittsburgh and Arizona, and I can't really see either of them putting in a claim. Then again, I don't see the Cubs putting in a claim either. I do think the Giants should jump all over this if no one claims Dunn before them. My point really wasn't about waiver order. The Nats aren't just letting Dunn go...they're going to want something for him.

    Just had a co-worker come tell me that he can't believe the Cubs got rid of Theriot. "He's the only guy on the team that hustles!"

    Hawks have an awful lot of bandwagon fans at the moment.
