  1. I don't know that it makes you a scumbag...I don't know you or your beliefs, but I'd question why you care about sports more than the lives of those that are affected by the "opinions" of others. This is an Athletic article, so you may not be able to read it if you're not a subscriber, but Daniel Murphy's horsefeathers opinions have an affect on people...maybe not you, but others. https://theathletic.com/494008/2018/08/29/a-lesbians-guide-to-rooting-for-the-cubs-with-daniel-murphy/ So people with the ability to put themselves in the shoes of others recognize that these issues are far more important than baseball. If you’re bothered by Murphy, just don’t root for him. It would have been a great disservice if the Cubs decided not to improve their team and give them a better shot at winning a World Series because of a guy’s opinion. Sports aren't that important, guy. The Cubs can simultaneously care about character and ability at the same time. It's really not that difficult.
  2. It doesn't matter that Murphy isn't leading the "horsefeathers" competition. He's still competing in it. I am going to go ahead and commit NSBB suicide with my first post and ask why everyone cares so much about what athletes do? I mean we all watch these guys because they are really really good at baseball, not because they are heros or better people, right? Specifically with Murphy, I don't like him or anything he's said regarding homosexuality, but I'd rather he's hitting for us in the playoffs than the opposing team. Does that somehow make me a scumbag too? I don't know that it makes you a scumbag...I don't know you or your beliefs, but I'd question why you care about sports more than the lives of those that are affected by the "opinions" of others. This is an Athletic article, so you may not be able to read it if you're not a subscriber, but Daniel Murphy's shitty opinions have an affect on people...maybe not you, but others. https://theathletic.com/494008/2018/08/29/a-lesbians-guide-to-rooting-for-the-cubs-with-daniel-murphy/ So people with the ability to put themselves in the shoes of others recognize that these issues are far more important than baseball.
  3. It's not a competition. He's a garbage person, and the Cubs knew it. So because a guy has different opinions than you, that makes him a horsefeathers person? I 100% disagree with Murphy but it’s his opinion. And my guess is, he’s far from the only one on the Cubs that disagrees with the gay lifestyle. Opinions deserve scorn if they're [expletive] opinions. A white supremacist holds the opinion of racial superiority, and he should absolutely be vilified for such a thing. Holding shitty opinions absolutely makes someone a shitty person.
  4. Murphy doesn’t belong in the same universe as the other two. It doesn't matter that Murphy isn't leading the "shitbag" competition. He's still competing in it.
  5. It shouldn't matter in light of this, but hopefully him playing like horsefeathers makes it easier for the Cubs to make the decision to part ways.
  6. Ah yes, the ol' "it fell off a truck" story. Been a while since I heard that one.
  7. I love this gif so very much. you have a teenage daughter? No. 11yo son and a wife that's easily embarrassed by my shenanigans.
  8. Of all the things for you to be optimistic about...
  9. I just dislike Kintzler that much....it's no deep DLR love.
  10. That's why Cardinal fans won't ever let go of Molina.
  11. I'd take De La Rosa over Kintzler every damn day of the week.
  12. Only if he doesn't want to be.
  13. That would be a helluva tear to end the season.
  14. [tweet] [/tweet]
  15. Zero Less than Zero. Why is this even a conversation? Because two years removed from a World Series championship we're so spoiled that being about to win a 3rd straight division championship, with a team that has dealt with a huge number of injuries, is insufficient.
  16. Zero
  17. Not in the field, and at least he can say that he's a rookie adjusting to the league.
  18. [tweet] [/tweet] Me too, Ted.
  19. It was so predictable. There was no chance of them keeping up that August pace.
  20. He's not helping my case any today.
  21. Geez, I mean, he's had a bad season. No doubt about it. But it's not like a player has never had a bad season (or two) and come back the next year or anything. Maybe he will, maybe he won't. But I'm not ready to declare him terrible forever at
