  1. That forum is a total trainwreck. It's like every meatball that ever calls into those shows all joined the same forum. It's actually incredible how awful it is. yup. get a load of this dude. http://score670.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=88665 Yeah, I saw that. Really...nobody should ever go to that forum, ever.

  3. Pro sports actually has people that can play the game at a high level. And they freely admit they're trying to make money, instead of cloaking themselves in the illusion of trying to be educators. If hypocrisy is a deal breaker for you, you probably shouldn't follow sports at all. Colleges lie about being educators, pro owners cry poverty while locking out players and bilking taxpayers out of millions of dollars for stadiums. Eh...I've become numb to the capitalism aspect of it all. I just don't like the NCAA pretending to be above it. But more than that, college sports are bad television. The players are slower and badder at sports. In general, that doesn't appeal to me. I'll watch college sports on occasion, but it's nowhere near as enjoyable as watching pros do things that few others on the planet are able to.

  5. Yep. I feel this way about college sports in general. I'll watch on occasion if I'm desperate for sports, but I'd be fine if there was never a televised college sporting event ever again.
  6. What specifically are you referring to?
  7. What's the read here? Stable as in embarrassing 2014 85M payroll stable, or stable as in we held back money this year embarrassing 100M payroll stable? My read was that there's not going to be a payroll increase until the tv deal is in place. Soriano's money coming off wasn't mentioned, but it'll obviously help.
  8. Makes sense to wait another day.
  9. And when are they expected to be in place? That didn't seem like a question worth asking.
  10. Sending Schwarber to instructional league to have him focus on catching.
  11. Raving about Schwarber.
  12. Keeps talking about the TV deal coming down the line. Mentioned that the TV deal will be necessary to keep all this talent down the line.
  13. "In a stable place payroll wise" Basically said that the payroll will increase when the TV deal happens.
  14. Careful, Boise State usually peaks for the season in that first game.
  15. He appears to be a relatively smart dude...especially for an ex player (and for radio), so I'm gonna give him a chance. Also, I really, really don't like poor man's bernstein wannabe creepy laurence holmes I'd have been ok with Holmes, but I know what I'm getting with him. Mannelly is new, and I like some of the "inside the locker room" stories he's told.
  16. It sounds like he's covering the mouthpiece of his phone while he talks.
  17. That's what Cooper always sounds like.
  18. So yahoo! sends me an email grading my draft (well, their friends at "automated insights"). They said I did a pretty [expletive] job and gave me a C-. Then they urged me to click on the "full report card". That was a mistake. They continued to tell me how, if I won the league, I'd be "coach of the year", etc. etc. etc. Then proceeded to say they expected me to go 1-13 on the year. Ouch. I have to wonder how much me not drafting a defense at all factored into this "report card". That being said, it wouldn't surprise me if this team was not anything special. But, I *think* there is enough talent there to surprise and contend if I catch a few breaks. Those yahoo report cards are a joke. They are reliant on yahoo's projections, which are terrible. They gave me a B- in one of my two leagues, pretty much because of the bottom of my draft depth, which I've already done some free agent moves to correct. Meh, whatever.

  20. Theo on The Score at 10:40.
  21. It's so boring when Soler isn't hitting.
  22. I think Baez is in his own head too much up there
  23. All Cubs should debut in Cincy. Always.
  24. What more do you need for that last push?
