  1. Cris Collinsworth bought part of PFF. http://mmqb.si.com/2014/08/25/seattle-seahawks-repeat-super-bowl-prediction/4/
  2. He's so terrible.
  3. And it's still the first year. As I recall, there was a lot of hate for the NFL replay system at first, and while it still has some haters, it's generally pretty well received now I'd say.
  4. It has it's issues, but I like getting the calls right.
  5. Damn, this in a way makes me wish he wasn't cut. Really? I mean...cool, glad you like the Bears guy...but that doesn't mean I want you on my team.
  6. Team loses starting QB for the year in the third preseason game. It'd be a story no matter what team and what QB.
  7. No Cutler or Clausen this week against Cleveland. It'll be Fales for the whole game.
  8. I really wanted to see Brian de la Puente push Garza this year. Apparently that's not happening.
  9. Well...ok...you're acting like Kyle Long turned out to be [expletive] though. I think hes been above average, but I still have a problem with taking a Guard in the first round of a draft for a variety of reasons. Especially when you have other players that are universally considered higher ranked. We're paying the sins for Angelo being a turd in the draft, but Phil hasn't exactly been the remedy. Sure he's had a few hits the last 3 years (Alshon, Long(?)), but to date he hasn't found 1 good defensive player in the draft and we're still searching for a Safety since Mike Brown. Ok, but if he'd gone defense we'd be whining about being an all defensive team in an offensive league. Like you said, we're paying for the sins of Angelo here. Emery has built a hell of an offense here, is keeping our QB upright for a change, and rebuilt a defensive line that was flat out horrible last year. Obviously, the D-line needs to prove whether or not he did a good job, but so far this preseason, they're getting a very good rush. The secondary is just letting the receivers get open. Obviously Emery is going to hear plenty about the Shea pick, and rightfully so...but while Long was drafted higher than projected, he's turned out to be a very good pick, and from all accounts is only going to get better. I think he's done a great job in the FA market and finding veterans to round out the roster. But this team needs an infusion of youth and talent in the defense/offense which will trickle down to Special Teams. Our biggest weakness has yet to be addressed (young talent). Maybe, but I also think a big part of the special teams issue is that DeCamillis is bad. The Cowboys ST was bad when he was there, and has gotten much better since he left.

  12. Well I would not have called Lance Briggs getting that good of a score. Also, if I recall, Tillman was pretty horrible last preseason too. Grades from Preaseason Week 3 from PFF: http://i.imgur.com/d4fivHR.png http://i.imgur.com/mKKr6Dg.png

  14. He's been pretty pedestrian ever since the Super Bowl year, but he was finally moved back to nose tackle and he actually looked like a productive player again. Tough loss, especially when the nose tackle/defensive line depth isn't very good. It's kinda crazy that they can't find a way to protect Rodgers better than they do.

  16. If I noticed this when the schedule came out, I'd completely forgotten until just now...the Bears don't play the Lions for the first time this year until our 12th game of the season, Nov 27. And they don't play the Vikings until the 10th game. They'll have played both of the Packers games by the time they see either of the other two division rivals for the first time. Just a weird scheduling quirk.
  17. Pretty easy call I think. Agreed. Senn and Reynaurd are gone as well. Jacoby Ford was released by the Jets. Can he return kicks? I'm guessing that Chris Williams is going to get first crack at it. They just wanna rest his hammy and make sure he's ready for the regular season.
  18. Pretty easy call I think.
  19. Chris Broussard got his twitter hacked and he's spamming some link...lol
  20. Michael Ford cut.
  21. Bears cut Kofi Hughes, Adrian Wilson and Nate Collins.
  22. Ugh, Conte with a concussion isn't good. I know there's a lot of Conte hate, but he was one of the few players with a good game last night, has the most experience with the Bears of the safety group, and I think has a chance to have a nice season.
  23. Boers and Bernstein pointed out this article...wow...I mean wow... http://www.suntimes.com/sports/baseball/cubs/29402134-573/the-cubs-a-franchise-stuck-in-the-mud.html I'll paste my favorite part in case you don't wanna give Telander any clicks...
  24. The point is that you don't know who the failures will be. Just that inevitably, not everyone pans out.
