How are the Angels winning? They don't hit well, and aren't especially great at pitching. They have a negative run differential, and somehow are ahead of the Astros who have a +92 run differential. Baseball is weird. -
how many bad innings will it take now? But I was told that Kyle isn't negative and doesn't like hyperbole. (In this case it wasn't all that unreasonable of an opinion, but still.....)

We've got our all-world mega-ace going in the WC game. How'd we get him again? By going huge on a free agent in the offseason, or by spreading it around on lots of pitching bets? Cuz there's a lot of Arrieta's to be found out there.

Hahaha... Sam Smith just destroyed Kaplan on CSN during the rain delay. Kaplan was all outraged cubbievirus style that Rose talked about money.....zzzzz. Smith said something to the effect of "So you're saying you're stupid and want Rose to lie to you and give you the fantasy..." Hilarious.

I don't have to disagree with his point to hate the hyperbole. I'm pretty fine with the Cubs not spending a ton of money this offseason. I don't really want another 30+ pitcher on a megadeal, and I'm not going to go to war over not signing Heyward. I'm sure if I went back through your old posts I might find once or twice when you used hyperbole. You just don't like positive hyperbole. You have no problem with it when you use it in a negative fashion.

Exactly. This does nothing to validate your point. Using hyperbole doesn't invalidate his point, which you're intentionally missing.

This is the kind of empty promise crap that bothers me. You can't realistically make promises like that. But he didn't promise that. That's misrepresenting the quote. He's saying that young talent determines long term success vs short term success. The number of years is pure hyperbole.
