  1. Who would you want to replace him, wolf?
  2. there is much to do this season and things could still turn out great, but this is absolutely the reason last year's attitude of "well actually we're a year ahead of schedule so who cares what happens" was so infuriating. we had a chance to win last year and did nothing in the nlcs. that's a disappointing outcome. every chance to win is sacred. Are you talking about fans with this attitude? I don't think the players or management had that attitude.

  6. I got this article on Wikipedia, and I still don't know what thoracic outlet syndrome is. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thoracic_outlet_syndrome My wife had a rib excised because of it several years ago. It's basically when blood vessels or nerves get pinched funny...in my wife's case between a rib and another bone (I don't remember all of the details at this point). In her case, she had tingling in her arm, and pain in her funny bone and back area. She was actually dealing with it, not thinking much of it, but a neurologist she goes to for another condition noticed muscle loss in her left hand, and it eventually was traced back to this. Once she had the rib excised, she's had no problems.
  7. I think it's pretty reasonable to expect that things aren't gonna get a ton better during the year. I'm hopeful they can do something to get him fixed up in the offseason, but I'm not sure how warranted that optimism is.
  8. I hear ya...Willson certainly takes the sting out of Montero's sudden inability to play baseball. I still like the guy and wish he was better though. A big part of it is I find him very disconcerting to look at. Any time my Cubs team can be better-looking, I'm all for it. That's fair. Most of my affection for him comes from his broken english on twitter, and his running to first on walks faster than he runs the bases at any other time.
  9. Now that Contreras is here and real and beautiful, Montero is just a bag of meat to me. I hear ya...Willson certainly takes the sting out of Montero's sudden inability to play baseball. I still like the guy and wish he was better though.
  10. Short inning....maybe one more out of Warren??
  11. Ross officially to 7 day concussion DL.
  12. are you for serious? Latroy Hawkins was acquired to be the closer. http://i.imgur.com/gKLZMFZ.gif
  13. Latroy Hawkins? EDIT: Nope, didn't get him till 2004...damn. latroy hawkins started a game? the Meat Tray He did for the Twins. Thought maybe he got a spot start for the Cubs. That's why I usually don't play these games.
  14. somebody name that pitcher without looking it up Latroy Hawkins? EDIT: Nope, didn't get him till 2004...damn.
  15. Miggy caught Lester at least once last year.
  16. In the lineup...cool. At 3B...not as cool.
  17. Peralta DFA'd to make room for Warren. Ross may go to DL after taking ball off mask. Would make room for La Stella who will be activated today.
