Give me a break. This lineup is awful. People are batting out of place and he's playing inferior players over vastly superior players. I haven't seen anything on Jones mentioned in any publications. Please, what 'facts' are we all ingorant of? Actually, Jones is supposedly hurt...
So says Dusty. But Walker said he's fine. And while people don't like having Neifi in there, I'm pretty sure that the main complaint is that he's batting 2nd. Just in case you were ignorant of the facts behind the complaints.
I feel the same way on both counts. Of course there are many here who think our sorry roster would suddenly start winning ballgames if we had a manager who showed FIRE! and INTENSITY! When Dusty came to the Cubs, we heard about how scrappy his teams were. He was a motivational master and that his teams didn't quit on him. How motivated to the Cubs look to you? I'd prefer Baker to be gone, but if he's going to stay, I at least want him to do what he's supposed to be good at.
Most of us that are complaining about Wood throwing in the bullpen last year, support this team year in and year out, and for some of us (most of us?), Wood throwing in the bullpen in meaningless games was a punch in the face.
I don't want to start a new thread for every Dusty quote, so I'll put this here...from Sportsline.com's article "Struggling Scrubs"...ugh.... I don't even know what that means....aren't two-out hits a GOOD thing?
I'm not asking him to flip over spreads, but show some kind of enthusiasm...some kind of fire...argue some close calls, get kicked out of a game in a lopsided loss...do something to show your team you care, and you're not gonna take this kind of play sitting down.
There's a thread in rants on the Score at the moment. Please reply there. Thanks. viewtopic.php?t=31442 http://www.northsidebaseball.com/PremiumForum/viewtopic.php?t=31442
Yes, I'm pretty sure that I read that batting order is essentially meaningless. Perhaps, but Dusty doesn't think so, or he wouldn't have switched Pierre and Cedeno. And for a guy that thinks that lineups matter, this isn't a good one.
Yeesh. Why does this scare me? Seems like Corey had trouble with being given too much info to remember, and I'd REALLY hate to see that with Murton... Maybe I'm over-reacting...
If it was 2-1 I'd agree...but at 8-1, during the week, I might bolt too. i understand that, but you mind as well just call them the San Francisco Bonds. That's the only player on the team that their "fans" actually care about. Everyone has their favorite player. I don't begrudge people for staying for the exciting player...I begrudge them for liking Bonds...:)
