  1. OMG OMG BONDS COMING UP OMG OMG I'm predicting he hits the cover off the ball a la The Natural. Maybe he hits the lights for a nice fireworks background.
  2. Lets not make a mountain out of a cold Hill. They can't all be winners.
  3. Oh yeah baby! He's about to bust out in a big way!! 20 HR's in June!!
  4. somebody please kill Jimmy "WHY IS HE FAMOUS?" Fallon. Anyone playing a role in the unrivaled Cowbell skit is ok in my book. His MTV Music Video awards intro was pretty hilarious as well.
  5. Wow....Neifi's OBP is .216 before that AB...wow...
  6. Walker continues to impress me defensively at 1B. He's channeling Neifi and "saving the Cubs".
  7. Isn't that like the first Cub homer is like 2 weeks?
  8. Where does the girl go when Jimmy Fallon throws her in the air? I mean...that's David Blaine stuff right there...
  9. Good on Hill for throwing inside...hehe...
  10. JINX!!! That might be the earliest jinx ever...Hill hasn't even thrown a pitch! #-o lol @ jinxes. First pitch after you mentioned the no-no! :P

  12. 5 pitches? 6 pitches? I forgot how many Pierre took.
  13. Ugh...Pierre needs the Willie Mays Hayes treatment... "Every time you hit a ball in the air, I want you to do 10 pushups."
  14. Wait a sec? Sure he asked for those type of players but he didn't ask for all these injuries either. It's not Dusty job to build a team it's Hendry's. He's a craphole manager without injuries. Was he crap in 2003 with the proper players? They should have been better than they were in 2003. They barely won the division. They should have been leaps and bounds ahead.
  15. I actually agree with you. I've been a Cubs fan all my life, but we need some serious managment changes. Sometimes you have to get to the lowest low before someone realizes that maybe all the excuses are nothing more than a smokescreen for the real problem. Dusty hasn't done terrible this year, but I think it's time for some new enthusiastic blood in the dugout. Ken But here's the problem we haven't won a WS in 97 because of the manager. I couldn't see another manager doing any better with this current team... Dusty helped build this team though. He asked for the types of players he's gotten. If no one can win with this team, then lets get a manager that can help build one that can win. Do you think Dusty can do that?
  16. Ugh...I hope not........Pudge...blech.
  17. Much like you goony, I'm looking at the whole "Will Baker get fired" issue with skeptical hope...
  18. Lets refrain from the "only idiots have a different opinion than me" argument. Thanks.
  19. Who would play 1B for the Pirates after this trade if it happens?
  20. I'm getting to a point that I just want them to lose for however long it takes for Dusty to get fired. I know it's not all his fault, but it sure as hell wouldn't hurt. As I alluded to in another thread, if the Cubs lose tonite, it will be the fourth losing streak of at least 7 games in the past year under Dusty. That isn't good. In a year??? That's just terrible. I want to see a manager with some fire...when was the last time Dusty got ejected for arguing? When you're losing this much surely there's SOMETHING to argue and show your team that you have some fight in you... I'm guessing when he didn't properly double switch someone and they were called out. IIRC, he threw his hat, he threw a fit, and apologized to Darrin. HA! Ok, I'm done....later guys.
  21. I don't know about that, but with the Mets finally headed in the right direction I think we may have stolen away the title of "dollar for dollar the worst team in baseball." I have faith that the Mets will struggle at some point this season. But that could just be me "hating" to steal a term from JC. The Mets have too much talent compared to us to struggle that bad. I just think they'll come back to the pack and give the Braves a chance to catch em. Atlanta has trained me to think that way.
