How do you figure? Where did you read anything that indicated that? Grimsley named names that he knew did HGH from association. The government was the one that tracked this shipment to his house. I'm not sure where you come up with your conclusion. I figure from the story on BP. I hadn't read that...thanks. I still have a hard time coming up with a lot of sympathy for the players that did this though... :P

when he wins a game? he's had 14 shots now. he's overdue. :wink: He's had 8 games started. 14 overall appearances. How dare he not win in relief? Also his first two starts in the bigs, he only gave up 2 runs in each outing, and got a no decision. It's a confidence issue with Hill, IMO. I'd like to see him get a chance to pitch in long relief for a while.

I have a $5 bet with my buddy that the Reds will win the division over the Cards. Yeah, I know...real rich bet...but it's a nice risk vs reward for me. If I lose, it's only $5...if I win, it's the Reds over the Cards! :D

I don't understand why you would base calling up Guzman on his stats in the minors, when your basis for not calling up Hill has nothing to do with his minor league stats. Neither has had any more success than one another at the big leagues, and clearly Hill has been the better pitcher in AAA. I'd like to see Hill get a chance at coming up and filling Marmol's long relief role for as long as Marmol is in the rotation. If Hill does well there, it can only help any potential trade value he has.

I haven't watched BBTN in eons, and frankly I don't feel like I'm missing it. They are making themselves more and more irrelevant with each passing day. Harold Reynolds, John Kruk and Steve Philips? (just a guess)

I don't think it has anything to do with the media. I think it's more an issue of not wanting to be around other baseball players. Remember, he just gave a bunch of names of users to the feds - some of which may be current teammates. Even if he didn't name any teammates, I would imagine there are probably some guys who'd be pissed that he ratted on fellow players. I'd imagine that getting caught with HGH is an offense that could get him sent to jail, and his options were prison, or cooperate and tell what he knows. That's true too...but in any case, it was a way to run and hide.

Union's going to file a grievance and win in a walk. Retaliatory discharge at its finest. I highly doubt it. Grimsley asked to be released. Yep...he decided he was a "distraction" and is probably out of baseball according to his agent. My favorite part of the AP article was this... Riiiight...call me cynical, but I don't think this had anything to do with respect, or what a good guy he was, and everything to do with how he didn't want to face the media, and answer all those questions. Sounds like he took the cowards way out.

Everyone has sucked on offense today, aside from Mabry and Barrett. Just was pointing them out cuz they were due up in the 9th.

Awesome...meetings this afternoon so I couldn't watch the game, come back to hear that Kerry is gonna get his shoulder examined, and that we've been completely dominated by a nobody pitcher...yay!

But Dusty should be able to figure out that Wood, while recovering, will be giving up some runs and might need the offensive cathcher rather than the defensive catcher. The bolded section made me laugh hard enough that I was unable to read the rest of the post.... :D

I just wish that he'd played Hank against a righty. I know that he doesn't hit righties as well as lefties, but he's not going to give you much offense either way, and Barrett has hit lefties really well this year.
