  1. I actually feel pretty good about the Bulls going into the playoffs. They've handled Miami and Detroit all season, and I don't see that changing. Not to mention they were a much worse team last year and nearly beat Miami. I would like it if Bill Walton would not announce Bulls games anymore though. Ugh. I think he's gotten worse since the NBA on NBC days when I watched the NBA on a regular basis.
  2. Well if we're using one game to judge players like Theriot, I choose the 3 error game to judge Izturis.
  3. So Izzy saved the game from being a 4 run loss, and it was only a 2 run loss instead? Well yippy skippy. How about we get a guy that maybe doesn't make that play, but puts up 3RBI to make up for it instead? I'll take offensive production over a couple of snazzy plays thanks.
  4. Eh? Don't we need to do a ping pong ball blower-thingy first before we know that? We were tied for 5th (or was it 6th?) yesterday. Worst case scenario was we'd wind up at 10th, and we did. Knicks won and everyone else lost. As for the ping pong balls, we know have a lot fewer ping bong balls to be blown... If I understand it correctly, it's either get incredibly lucky and land in the top 3... or wind up 10th (or worse, if a later picking lottery team gets lucky with the ping pong balls). i still think the draft lottery is a sham until they actual draw the ping pong balls live. All this secret drawing, envelope nonsense is crap Wait... you think the idea of Stern telling the refs to call the games in favor of the Heat is ludicrous yet you think the draft lotto is fixed? Seems contradictory to me. Frankly, I think both conspiracy theories are ludicrous. Okay, sham is the wrong word. But there is no reason to hide the drawing. In fact, I think it would be more exciting to see the ping pong balls come out then the super boring envelope reveal There is one big reason-it takes forever. They spit out these 4 number combinations, and these combinations coorespond to different teams. It wouldn't be that exciting to see-okay, 0/1/2/1 has come out-that is-----Boston! Plus, let's say the team with the most combinations wins the first pick. When they draw for the second and third pick, they are likely going to pick those combinations multiple times again-so the balls come out, and the people look at it and go-hmm, no that one has already been used, got to pick again. It would be a mess. I would love to figure out how to do it live, but it would have to require significant changes to what they do to make it work. I could see that being a problem if they did ping pong balls for the whole lottery eligible bunch of them, but for only 3 picks? I think people are smart enough to figure this out...
  5. I'LL FILE YOU UNDER WHO CARES!!! Oooooooh....burrrrrrrrrnnn.
  6. I had a lot of confidence in Hill coming into the season, but if you told me that on April 19th I'd be more comfortable with his starts than Zambrano's starts, I'd have said you were nuts.
  7.  Picky about your superstitions, eh? Haha, that was cute. I still think the Bears go more shotgun. And I still think it will offer some additional help by giving Grossman the ball instantly with his eyes forward. Obviously the vast majority of plays will be dropbacks. What I really want to see is Benson becoming the back he was drafted to be. Can we start a pool on the number of dropped shotgun snaps this season?
  8. Wait till he has a week without a homer, and a couple of errors. He'll be on the block again.
  9.  Picky about your superstitions, eh?
  10. Failed to score from 3rd on a high chopper to third with one out, and then failed to score from 3rd on a crazy wild pitch that bounced around like a pinball.
  11. The DP on Theriot was a VERY tough DP to pull off. Granted it wasn't great hitting from Theriot, but I'm not willing to make him a goat of the game. This game was a mess far before that point.
  12. Every day Theriot makes Baker look more and more ridiculous with the 2nd basemen that he trotted out there ahead of Ryan.
  13. I'm pulling for ya here Murt, but come on...help me out.
  14. Hopefully getting the bad game out before the playoffs means they'll play better once the playoffs start.
  15. Awesome? They've been just horrible in the 4th quarter. I suspect he means their 20-8 record since the All-Star break. I expect the Bulls to beat the Heat. I do too, but what about Detroit? Bulls had a road to the East Finals made for them and all they had to do is win this one game. Haven't the Bulls played the Pistons really well this season? Or does it just seem like it? I don't watch a helluva lot, so I'm just going on gut here...
  16. I'll buy that. I don't. He was in great shape last year and started bad. So did a lot of pitchers that threw in the WBC.
  17. I can't believe Rothschild still has a job. I don't really think Rothschild is to blame for Z being a [expletive] headcase. Just sayin... And one could argue that Dusty's overuse may have more to do with Z's start than anything Larry has done. If Lilly, Marquis and Hill are examples of what Larry is capable of, then bravo. Especially if Marquis can hold it together...even the great Dave Duncan couldn't keep that guy pitching well. But he started the same way last year... If Z's performance last year was Larry's fault...than what's the problem? Z ended up with a very good year last year. The fact that it took Larry 5 weeks to figure out that Z's mechanics weren't right... LOL...maybe it just took 5 weeks to get a headstrong Zambrano to actually do what he's telling him. If Zambrano is your case for Larry being a bad pitching coach, I don't think you have much of a case. I didn't say he was a bad coach, I just found it odd last year he stated that Z mechanics weren't right in May, when my friends and I thought it was obvious in April. But that doesn't mean that Larry didn't know that in April too. I think you're assuming a lot.

  19. ? I'm pretty sure WGN displays OBP They do, and Len talks about OBP.

  22. And not taking pitches... But I expected they wouldn't take pitches. I expected they'd hit homers though.
